Thank you to our DonFaster 2026 series sponsor - EXPERT MORTGAGE ADVICE (Paul Huby - Mortgage Advice Bureau) - https://www.expertmortgageadvice.co.uk/

EXPERT MORTGAGE ADVICE sponsorship has allowed Danum Harriers Running Club the opportunity to reinvest in the future of the DonFaster 5K event, making it the ‘sell out’ event it has become!

The EXPERT MORTGAGE ADVICE logo will take pride of place on your running bib on Friday night. Paul will be racing in Wave 2, and then awarding prizes to our race winners.

Paul has been a member of Danum Harriers for over 6 years. He is an Ironman 70.3 finisher and a seasoned Hyrox finisher.

Thank you, Paul, for your continued support.

📸 Meet Mark Bower – DonFaster’s Official Photographer & All Round Harrier Legend

If you’ve ever run DonFaster, you already know the magic of those post race photos — the flying feet, the gritty final lap faces, the cheeky smiles and thumbs up moments. Every one of them comes from the man behind the lens: Mark Bower, Danum Harriers’ Vice Chair, Media Officer, Lead Safeguarding Officer, runner and run leader.

Mark has a real talent for catching the exact moment that tells the story — whether it’s determination, joy, or that “I swear they've added another lap” expression. He tackles every challenge thrown at him: dusk lighting, floodlit course, heatwaves, torrential rain… and still delivers those crisp, energetic shots we all love.

He takes thousands of photos at each DonFaster event and spends over six hours reviewing and editing them to create the final race album you see on Flickr. It’s a huge labour of love, and it shows in every image.

And when he’s not running or photographing? He’s a talented rower. In 2012, Mark won silver at the English Indoor Rowing Championships.

So, if you’re at October’s DonFaster, make sure you give Mark a wave as you run past — he’ll be there, camera in hand, ready to capture your best (or sweatiest) moment.

A massive Harrier thank you to Mark for everything he does — on the course, behind the camera, and for the club.

🏃‍♂️ Welcome to Our New DonFaster Race Director — Dave Scully

We’re delighted to announce that Dave Scully has taken on the role of DonFaster Race Director, succeeding Lynn Hutchinson, who has served the race with dedication and energy. We thank Lynn for her fantastic contribution and commitment to making DonFaster the success it is today.

Dave is no stranger to the event. As a long standing member of the DonFaster Race Committee since its inception, he has played a key part in shaping and managing the race over the years. His experience across the running community is extensive — he’s a runner, coach, run leader, and Parkrun Run Director, bringing a wealth of knowledge to the role.

Many of you may also recognise Dave from his international rugby union career. He was part of the England 7s squad that won the 1993 Rugby World Cup Sevens, earning the tournament’s standout moment for a memorable tackle on Fijian player Mesake Rasari.

We’re excited to welcome Dave into this leadership role and look forward to the continued growth and success of DonFaster under his direction.
