Our brand new Under 11s had their first game as a team today. What a brilliant effort from them all coming away with 1-0 win, in a friendly. They are all absolutely buzzing and so they should be

Our Under 12 Reds had a bit of pre season bonding yesterday and a bit of a treat for winning their Europa League final at the Scawthorpe tournament a few weeks ago A great day was had by them all.

A round up of our winners on the day yesterday

Under 8s - Champions League winners Bottesford Town Juniors Football Club this young group of players never conceeded a goal all tournament.

Under 8s - Europa League winners Sprotbrough & Cusworth Crusaders JFC fantastic effort across the tournament

Under 9s - Champions League winners Haworth Colliery their keeper making some massive saves at key times across the tournament

Under 9s - Europa League winners Redfearns JFC U9s brilliant little side who battled all day and came away with a trophy

Under 10s - Champions League winners Hyde Park Knights Blues winning their age group trophy for a 3rd year in a row

Europa League winners main brilliant effort from the whole team to come away with the trophy

Under 11s - Champions League winners DSC Elite Football - Their grassroots team only scoring 2 goals across the tournament but it was enough to win the big one

Europa League - Tickhill Juniors Football Club brilliant victory in the final beating our own Hyde Park Blacks

Under 12s - Champions League winners Handsworth Junior Sporting Club finished 2nd in their group but had enough to get over the line in the knockout phases

Europa League winners - Dinnington Town FC great performances in the knockout stages

Well done to all the winner and runners up. There was some fantastic football on show throughout the day.

HPK U10 Blue - Write Up

The sun was shining, the boys had their factor 50 and the mood in camp the highest it’s been for a long time. HPK looking to defend their crown whilst hosting the annual Hyde Park Knights summer tournament having won it the previous 2 years.

Group Stage / League Format

Game1
Hyde Park 2-0 Wombwell Main
The boys set off out the blocks at fast pace with great intensity. Chance after chance, Presley converting 2 greatly timed finishes.

Game2
Hyde Park 0-0 Scawthorpe
2 well balanced sides cancelling each other out with a draw probably a fair result after the full time whistle.

Game3
Hyde Park 1-1 Junior Tykes
The boys rolled up their sleeves after trailing early from a shot from range found the back of the net. Waited patiently creating multiple chances, some great wing play and a great team passing movement with Presley squaring for Jay to tuck away neatly with his left foot.

Game4
Hyde Park 2-0 Harwoth
The boys were gaining momentum and growing in confidence, great wing play, strong in the tackle, working hard for one another. Gabriel tucking away the first after great build up with Presley tucking away his third of the afternoon.

Champions League Semi Final
Hyde Park 1-0 Spire Rangers
Excellent work rate from the boys, up and down as a unit. The highlight reel moment of the afternoon - Finley O gliding past players as he did all day, beat his man on the right wing with a pinpoint cross whipped in at pace with Alex popping up on the back post with a beautifully timed volley. Both wingers unselfishly linking up once again, as they did each game!

Full time - HPK in the final for a third year running!

Champions League Final
Hyde Park 0-0 Branton (4-1 Pens)
It was written in the script for a repeat of last year’s final against opponents we know so well. Henry rock solid at the back from the first until the last whistle, didn’t mistime a tackle, throwing his body on the line blocking shots restricted to from range winning his battles. The midfield cancelled each-other with very few chances from either side to break the deadlock. Top scorer on the day Presley was growing in confidence and converted a goalmouth scramble with his head but was rightfully cancelled out by the referee. Alex, Finley Mc, Finley O, Gabriel working tirelessly in the midfield and Theo and Jay setting the tone up top putting the tight Branton defence under pressure throughout.

Full time, 0-0 - penalties beckon. Cometh the man cometh the hour. Our No.1 Hudson - time to be a hero as he often is!
