Under 13s were away at Rossington today in the cup.

Having only played them last week in the league we knew to expect a tight physical game and it was.

The boys were slow out of the box today and aren’t switched on won’t winning first or second balls and falling 2 goals behind both of which we could have done better with. Oscar the scorer of 2 of last weeks goals was introduced and he pulled one back before half time after a great ball from Dimi.

Second half we tried and battled but Rossington held up to everything we had and managed to see it out as 2-1 winners

Man of the match was chosen by the parents and they chose Samba for his hard work and skill on the wing.

Under 13s were at home in League action today vs Rossington after having last weekend off.

Having the weekend off showed as well, we were slow out of the blocks not managing to win many first or 2nd balls. That said the first half was pretty even with neither side managing to break the deadlock and going in at 0-0 at halftime.

Team talk was all about switching on and winning the first and second balls and we will no doubt start creating.

To start with it didn’t work, a lapse in concentration at the back let the Rosso forward to race through and slot it home. Not long after we won a free kick about 20 yards out and Max stepped up and with a bit of help found the net to make it 1-1. After that we really sprang into life and after great work by Dimi he slid Oscar in who made no mistake to make it 2-1. 2 became 3 after a great ball from Max found Oscar who again smashed it home to make it 3-1.

After that we managed to see it out to make it three wins from three.

Player of the match was Oscar for his brace of goals.

Under 13 Reds were at home today against Frickley.

Both teams have played each other quite a lot over the years and it’s always an enjoyable match played in the right way and today was no different.

Some changes were made to the starting line up with a few players swapping positions showing the strength in the squad.

We got off to a flyer going 1 nil up after 3 minutes with Max shooting on sight from 25 yards out and it flying into the back of the net. Hyde Park were very much on the front foot throughout the half and they played some lovely stuff knocking the ball about, switching play but we could not get the 2nd before half time. We went in 1 -0 up at half time.

The team talk was simple carry on as we are and the 2nd will come and it did 2 minutes into the 2nd half, great pressing from Charlie up top meant he won the ball and dinked one over the keeper the defender could only steer it into the net.

10 minutes later it was 3-0 Dimi doing what he does best smashing a loose ball home in the 18 yard box.

With 2 minutes to go we gave away a penalty which they scored but we managed to see the game out as 3-1 winners.

Big thanks to Frickley as always it was a great game.

Player of the match was a difficult one this week with loads of players in with a chance but it was decided Dimi deserved it his fantastic work rate in midfield and then when he moved up front as well. ( The picture is an old one )

First game of the season was away at Mexborough for our Under 13s.

It was expected to be a closely fought game and it did not disappoint.

The first half was an even affair with both times having chances but both defences holding firm with both keepers making saves. We never quite got our runs right at times and the offside flag was constantly used today. Mexborough took the lead though before half time after a mistake at the back leading to an OG.

A few changes were made at half time which is the benefit of having a big squad.

Again the 2nd half carried on like the first half with both teams going end to end. Mexborough extended their lead though going 2-0 and in the driving seat.

The lads showed tremendous character though with Dimi leading the line and starting the press from up front. He managed to get on the end of one with his relentless running and made it 2-1.

Mexborough then gave a penalty away with a handball which Khaled converted to even the scores 2-2.

It looked like there was only going to be one winner at this point and the 6 week fitness programme the team has undertaken with Accelerate Coaching Started to pay off. It was that lad Dimi again after a ball over top from Muta Dimi chased it down rounded keeper and tapped it home with about 2 minutes to go.

It finished 3-2 to Hyde Park and what a way to start the season.

Man of match was Emmanuel he was superb in everything he did today winning his duals and driving forward from defence when he the space to do so.

Hyde park knights u12R vs FPCA Football club u12

This was Hyde parks first game at 9 a side. And playing up a year too having decided to jump from u10s last season to u12s this season in order to play 9v9.

The game started and the home team took control early on, a goal soon came for Tommy Spooner with a beauty on his weak foot from the edge of the area assisted by Carter.
Hyde park then got awarded a penalty which Spooner just put wide. Lucky for him Charlie G put the home team 2-0 up minutes later.
A third came not long after from the No.9 Spooner assisted this time by Charlie G.
The visitors got back into the game a bit and scored one back to make it 3-1.
Before the end of the half Charlie G got his second of the game. Assisted by Spooner.

Half time.
HPK 4-1 FPCA

The second half kicked off and Hyde park were straight on the front foot again. A 5th goal soon came this time an unfortunate own goal from the visitors from a Charlie G cross.
Not long after Charlie G got another, assisted by George making it 6-1 and bagging himself a hat trick.
The visitors had a few chances themselves but were unable to convert or break down Hyde park’s defence.
The last 2 goals came from the No.10 Carter. Both goals very similar. Running through the away team’s defence, cutting inside onto his preferred left foot and curling home 2 beauty’s.

Full time
HPK 8-1 FPCA

Great performance from the boys, from the keeper to the striker. They all played their socks off.
And 2 debuts for Jacob and Amir today aswell, both did excellent and fitted right in.
