Retford Utd Badgers Tournament.

What a great day and well organised tournament thank you to Retford for hosting us.
With 17 players available it was always going to be difficult to pick a teams for the day to give equal amount of playing time. The 1st 2 games we couldn’t get going looked sluggish and disjointed as a team drawing 0-0 and then losing 1-0 we had to regroup and rally the troops.
After getting our 1st win 3 games in the team went from strength to strength and never looked back winning all the remaining games and topping the group to go into the super cup final.
It proved to be a tough encounter with the opposition from Lincoln seemingly getting on the ball more than us but we held our nerve and got a corner. The corner was crossed in by Jenson with Alfie Sykes sublime volley back of the net making the game 1-0 to us and winning the whole tourney. Well done blues

Vs Bentley (lost 3-1 home)
Before the game we new we were going to be in for a tough game with several players away or injured and some playing with injuries and illness it was always going to be a struggle. Never the less we held our own and and played well creating plenty of chances. 0-0 at half time and we were the better side. We then got a goal through Charlie Y sliding ball home past the keeper. We were still slightly the better side but let Bentley in to level the game b the last 10 mins another 5 minutes later Bentley had 2 more making it 3-1 to the visitors.

Great training session again to day. Trainer of the day is Richo banging goals in for fun and working hard been like it for a few weeks now hopefully puts his form into match tomorrow.

Vs Retford Badgers away (3-4 win)

1st game for a few weeks and 1st half looked fairly good abit nervous at times both teams having plenty of opportunities to score however remained 0-0 at half time. 2nd half was much more entertaining going 3-0 up through goals from Ben, Alfie Sykes and a wonder free kick from Jenson. Plenty of subs been made and change of keeper unsettled the team and with been 3-0 up they seem to think the game was won. Retford then got a goal back and piled on the pressure making it 3-3. Last few minutes of the game won another free kick and it was Alfie (keeper)stepping up to chip the ball over the wall and in.

Addison - been solid all year always put the effort and work rate in sets an example to the rest of the team and scores plenty of goals. Due to his performances Addison has been selected as captain for the season.

Ben - coaches player is the year and top scorer. Ben is a quiet player but when it comes to his performances on the pitch he
is one of the 1st names on the team sheet. He’s quick great movement and cause defences loads of problems well done Ben.

Will (animal) most improved since adopting the CDM role he has been unbelievably a solid player for the team and another player who’s 1st name is he has to start alway in the right place at the right time to defend and break up play aswell as setting up attacking players. Well done will .

Parents finished off th night with a game of long ball( so funny)

GREAT training session today 11 turned up and all worked there socks off and put the effort in making it very difficult to pick a trainer of the day. Coach Kriss did eventually pick a player and was thoroughly deserved for his efforts and dedication in each drill. Step up Charlie Yerrell well done bud. Today also marked the return of our ex Brazilian winger after nearly 2 years of not playing returned to training and never put a foot wrong did really well. Welcome back to training olivinho.
