Head PGA Professional is back in the bunker this week talking about the 50-60 yard bunker shot. The long bunker shot is widely considered one of the hardest shots in golf because players try to force a high-lofted sand wedge to cover an unnatural distance, creating a very slim margin for error. Most golfers get their club selection wrong and try and play the shot like a greenside splash shot. In this video Joe talks about his method tackling this tricky shot.

A Week to Remember as Betchworth Park Hosts the England Golf Women's County Finals

Sitting here reflecting on a great week, I can honestly say it's been one of the proudest moments in Betchworth Park's recent history — hosting the England Golf Women's County Finals.

The standard of golf on show was sublime. Birdies and eagles flew in throughout the week, and it was a genuine privilege to watch some of the country's best county golfers test themselves against our course.

A Huge Thank You to Our Volunteers

None of this would have been possible without the more than 60 volunteers who gave up their time to help throughout the week. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it made the event a truly special occasion for Betchworth. Whatever role you played — big or small — thank you. You helped put this club on display in the best possible light. A final very big thank you to Chris Parks for leading the team of volunteers and spending many hours putting together everyones roles and locations, it wouldn't have worked so smoothly without all of your efforts.

To Our Staff — Thank You Doesn't Feel Like Enough

To all the staff, I couldn't be prouder of the team. The effort and work put in — not just in the run-up, but through a long week of early starts and late finishes — has been exceptional. The attitude and dedication shown by everyone has been exemplary, and it hasn't gone unnoticed from the players and Captains of all the teams.

Glowing Feedback from Across the Counties

The feedback we've received from all the visiting counties has been amazing. Time and again, we heard how much they loved the course, the food, and the atmosphere within the club. That's a reflection of everyone here, and it's something we should all be very proud of.

Thank you again to everyone — staff, volunteers, members, and visitors — who made this such a memorable week for the club.

Congratulations to Cheshire.Golf for taking home the trophy
