We have a bike in our possession handed in to us by a member of the public that was found abandoned in the town. If you think it may be yours just get in touch with us and describe the cycle (make, size, colour, any distinguishing marks, frame number etc). We believe that this bike may have been stolen from somewhere locally (garden shed, garden, garage, outside someone's home etc). Tel: 07939 139139.

We have a number of second-hand bicycles for sale, both for adults and children, and electric bikes for sale for those looking to become more eco-friendly permanent pedal-ers! All our sales stock bicycles come with a 2month warranty at the price listed. Hagglers are welcome but no warranty is given on an agreed discount price on any second-hand bikes. Had a spin out on one of our new e-bikes this afternoon. Went fantastic, nice leisure MTB, 250W and approx range of 30mls on single charge. More than ample for out and about for the day. Just get in touch if you fancy a few hours hire or for the day.

Here are a few pics of our New Carrera Vulcan taken on its 1st outing along the Camore Woods pathway by Loch-An-Treel known locally as the Curling Pond. I really enjoyed taking it on its Maiden Voyage, it performed well and was a pleasure to ride. This bike with its 27.5" wheels features a 2 x 9 speed Shimano Altus drivetrain with the same Clarks Clout hydraulic disc brakes as the Hellcat. Upfront there is slightly more travel with a 120mm Suntour XCM fork fitted which also has a lockout. This one is a 20" frame dude so good for the bigger boys, 5'10" - 6'2" and it's sweet. To hire it out for the day/s or a week just get in touch.

DBH is planning to turn to leasing out some of their hire bikes, as daily and weekly hires are impossible to implement under the present COVID-19 situation and the risks involved with such is too high for public safety measures to be adhered to and sadly we do not want to be encouraging tourists into our local area at this present moment in time until it is safe to do so. However, we are thinking through a strategy for leasing out the hire fleet whereby it would work out at a fraction of the normal cost of daily or weekly hire. At this time when people want to get out and exercise and are considering cycling as a preferred choice of how to do this but don’t want to go out and purchase a new bike perhaps leasing a bike for a short period of time would suit some folk (4 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks, 16 weeks). Hi All, Just a wee update from DBH to keep you informed of what's happening. As no bike hires at the moment due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but I have, at last, nearly finished the workshop for general servicing and repairs of our hire fleet. Not quite finished yet but couldn't wait to get the first bike up on the workbench for check over. I will do some general light servicing for folk outwith the bike hire, (Brakes/gears/puncture repairs/check over, etc) but not any bigger jobs please (hubs/gear cassette replacement, etc) as don't have the time and got enough on with keeping the hire bikes up to scratch and also working full-time elsewhere. I'll be keeping a small stock of tyres & tubes in the most popular sizes but will order in if your size is not in stock. Take Care & Stay Safe.

Hi Folks, getting towards Bike Hire season again so decided to take a wee jaunt out since weather was favorable. I took out the Oregon Reebok to blow the cobwebs away after sitting in the garage all winter. It's a good older Skool 21sp Hardtail MTB and functions very well in MTB Terrain. I went up Tinkers Woods near Dornoch (a place well worth exploring if you're looking for something away from the Tarmac Road routes). It's Forestry commission owned land and hopefully I can persuade FC to expand and improve a nice little potential MTB Trail I found adjacent to the gravel track road. Took some pics of my outing to let you see where I was and just pm me if you want directions on how to get there. There will be a bigger focus on cycling around Dornoch and the surrounding areas this year. I won't reveal too much at the moment but keep an eye on Dornoch Bike Hires FB page for updates and announcements shortly. Hope you enjoy the pics

Just a wee update and due to popular demand (asked about 5 or 6 times now) we have a childs seat for attaching to a bike. We've got the Polisport Groovy rs plus, this is a reclining one. It's mounted to the frame of the bike with a quick release system. It had its maiden voyage tonight and the customer was very pleased with it. Easy to fit and easy to use (once I worked out how to put it together). Suitable for kiddies from 9 months to 5 years. This seat offers plenty protection for its VIP passengers. With an armrest shaped for extra comfort and adjustable footrests offering 4 positions. There is also the ability to move the seat back and forth with 4 different settings available. The seat has been designed to allow for helmet use, the Groovy RS Plus can be reclined, but only after unlocking by an adult.
Additional Info: The child seat is EN14344 approved, with an adjustable 3 point safety harness.

That's the Hols over, (all 4 days of them) which were great, but then the car broke down on way home, so had to hire a car in Inverness as AA couldn't get us home tonight despite having full GOLD Relay cover (that's the the all bells, buzzers and flashing lights version), car still in Inverness at some holding depot. Hey ho that's just how things go in our family. Never mind, bike hire is up and running again from tomorrow Tues 30 July, should have taken some bikes with us on holiday, at least we would have managed to get home without having to fork out on car hire. I hope we can offer you a better service on bike hire than the AA can on their GOLD RELAY vehicle and occupants recovery service.

Dornoch Bike Hire is away from Fri 26 July and back for Tues 30 July so no bike hire available for this period unless prior arrangement has been made and pre-booked beforehand. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
