Seagulls Summer Social 2026
Great evening down Lymington sea water baths for the clubs annual summer social.
Lots of fun with the members from swimming and artistic swimming followed by sausage and chips 🌭🍟

🏆Dorset Masters 2026 🏆
Seagulls Swimming Club retained the Dorset County Masters Swimming Championship Trophy for the 3rd consecutive year after a strong performance in Dorchester. 🎉
The 13 strong team, with ages ranging from 40 to 72, collected 48 medals to win the Championship by 3 points after tough competition from Poole SC who were runners up and Swim Bournemouth taking 3rd place.
Top scores for the team were Kerry Small and Simon Price who both won gold medals in their 5 events earning a hefty 30 points for the team.
A total of 29 gold medals boosted the points with winning swims from, Simon Price (5), Kerry Small (5), Anita Whittle (4), Andy Small (3), Clare Friend (3), Viv Jones (3), Wendy Bates (2), Eleanor Parson (1), Jacqui Finn (1), Julie Massey (1) and Steve Arthur (1).
Alongside team mates Laura Lyons and Katerina Wilson, Seagulls added 12 silver and 7 bronze medals to their haul plus valuable points with a first place in the Freestyle relay and a third in the Medley relay.
Seagulls Masters cater for mixed ability swimmers from age 18 upwards.Some members swim purely to maintain fitness whereas others compete in swim meets, open water events and triathlons. There is information on the website and prospective members will be guaranteed a warm welcome to have a try out at 2 Riversmeet Leisure Centre.

Massive thank you to all the volunteers and helpers that run this meet. I know the masters community are ever appreciative of this racing opportunity within the county.

South West Open Water 2026
A team a seagulls took on the Lake 86 Cotswold water park 1km course combined with Midlands, South West & Wales Regions.
Seagulls had 4 swimmers race over the day.
Erin Redfern
Making her debut at regional level and open water placed 15th in the 15yrs 3km battling nerves to get to the line and finishing strong with a 48:51.26
Hudson Emery
Another debut swimmer at this level took on the 14 yrs 3km finishing 17th digging deep with a time of 51:23.12
Heath Emery
Debut open water swim like his brother was fearless taking on the 1km to finish 15th overall in the region with a 18:32.62
Freddie Weighell
Freddie taking the confidence from his open water camps came in a strong 4th place finish with a time of 29:05.27 which qualifies Freddie for the Swim England Open Water National in July 🏴 - amazing work Freddy

Looking forward to having Hannah Miley join our club tomorrow evening to discuss female health and physiology to help parents and swimmers.
Hannah Miley is a 3 time Olympian and a former world champion swimmer that has transitioned into a prominent role as an educator and advocate for female health in sports.
All members are welcome and all info is under the events tab on sports engine.

Coach Anand will be running intensives sessions over the summer holidays for pre club and development swimmers looking to improve on technique and skills.
Pre Club sessions:
Young swimmers looking to improve technique, understand the four strokes and club life

Covering technique and skills to keep swimmers training through summer and give them a head start for the new season.

🏆Junior Arena League Rd 2 🏆
Round 2 of the junior arena league saw seagulls blue and white teams make the trip to Rossmore looking to make improvements from round 1 💪
The teams were gutsy and raced well while taking away lessons to learn for next round of racing. 🎉
Both teams scored more overall points from round 1 showing the progression for both teams ⭐️

☀️Wi******er Summer Scorcher☀️
Massive well done to the team of seagulls that raced over the weekend. A strong team of 37 swimmers competing through the weekend giving many swimmers opportunity to update LC best times or opportunities to race LC for the first time.
Hot heats and prizes of your time finished in a .67 got the swimmers racing and enjoying the experience throughout 🔥
