🏆 THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND! 🔴⚪

A slow start for Downham Town saw the sides go into half-time 0-0, but the lads stepped it up after the break!

⚽ Matty found the breakthrough to put Downham 1-0 up, before Charlie came up HUGE once again, saving a penalty for the second game on the trot! 🧤👏

Fantastic Result for the reserves today!
Second league game in and a well deserved 4-2 win!

With the game even for the first 10-15 minutes with both sides having a share of the ball AFC Lynn started to get a few more efforts and chances, with the deadlock broken after a corner ricocheted around the box and ended up in the top corner!

With a change of personnel and formation Downham grew into the game and found a bit of rhythm and space. Taking this into the second half Downham drew level not long after the restart after a superb turn and throughball 😅 with the ever running forward Mark Smith taking a lovely first touch and calmly slotting past the keeper!

Next up a harsh penalty was given away with the player slotting past the keeper!

Downham started playing better football after with players getting their heads up, keeping the ball. But it was a long ball from the keeper that was headed down into the path of Harry Brown who calmly picked his spot and slotted the ball past the keeper from the edge of the box. Great finish. Game on!

Downham knew what was needed they worked tirelessly to keep winning the ball back throughout and with a man of the match performance Tariq hounded the left back keeping us high up the pitch. On this occasion the ball bouncing into space, being picked up on the edge of the box and a shot being placed over the keeper for Downhams 3rd. The 4th coming a little while after from another forced mistake where the ball was played into the path of Mark Smith from a defender who took his time and a lot of touches to poke it into the back of the net.

Then came a good defensive performance to see out the game with Lynn having a couple of chances that were dealt with by the back four who had a great game throughout!

Onto the next! Junior Cup away to Ang Com div 3 side Earsham!
