Ridden St. Patrick’s Coast before, but not riding this year?

Then you know two things:

It’s a fantastic ride.
It takes a lot of people standing at road crossings to make it happen safely.

When you rode, someone gave up their day to do that for you.

So this year, we’re asking you to return the favour.

Give us one day. Put on a hi-vis vest. Stand at a road crossing. Wave at a few cars. Help keep the next group of riders safe.

You don’t even have to trot up, present to the vet or remember where your crew car is parked.

Please come and steward — the ride genuinely cannot happen without enough people to help.

We wish all our riders a wonderful and safe day at St.Patrick’s Coast Ride on Sat.5th Sept. The 2026 Rider info is now available on the website - https://stpatrickscoast.com/rider-information. Take time to read this carefully and download the map (print a copy to have with you on the ride). Timings are VERY important this year as the 20mile riders need to be clear of the Tyrella beach section before the Whip and Collar Driving event starts there - 20mile riders MUST be out of the venue by 9.45 (any 20mile riders not able to meet this time limit will be downgraded to the 10mile ride).
Entries close tomorrow night! https://enduranceridingireland.com/ildra-calendar-event/772

Many thanks to The Whip And Collar Driving Club for putting back their start time to accommodate St. Patrick’s Coast Endurance Ride. The plan is that our riders will have long departed the beach before the drivers arrive - that means an early start for the 20 mile riders!
We wish them a successful day!

Road marking for St.Patrick’s Coast Ride (Sat.5th Sept) underway - last few days to get your entries in - entries CLOSE midnight Tues.1st Sept - don’t miss this!!!
The route will be marked with yellow/orange arrows and tape - where you see a solid blue line like the one across the road below, this means “DO NOT CROSS” (because you will be going the wrong way if you do!)

Entries for St.Patrick’s Coast Ride (Sat.5th Sept) CLOSE at midnight on Tues.1st September - don’t miss out - all welcome!

* 10 mile(16km) Pleasure Ride/Vetted Pleasure Ride- start time (approx) 10.00am - 12midday - figure of eight route covers fields, lanes, gallops, woods - NO beach. The pic below is the view from the Old Course Gallops on the 10mile/16km route.

* 20 mile(32km)Pleasure Ride/Vetted Pleasure Ride - start time (approx) 8.15am - 9.45am - circular route covers fields, lanes, gallops, beaches and road.

The longer route is NOT twice round the shorter route - friends who wish to ride together should select the same ride distance in their entry forms as different distances will have different start times (and routes). Under 18 riders must be accompanied by an adult (who, given the nature of the terrain, would also need to take part as a rider - accompaniment on foot/bike is not suitable for this ride)

* All horses must be able to show up to date flu vaccinations in their passports. Those booking stabling should forward vaccination records with their entries, others should bring them to the venue.
