💙 Closing Day at Drumlithie 💙

Today we held our Howies Triples Competition to mark the closing of our green for the 2026 season.

🏆 Congratulations to our winners Sandra, David & Ian and runners-up Dorothy, John & Neil H. 👏

In true Drumlithie style, we finished off with some lovely refreshments in the clubhouse! 🧀🍷

A huge thank you to everyone who has played, helped out and supported the club throughout the season. It’s been another fantastic year at Drumlithie and we couldn’t do it without you all. 💙

🏆 Seven Ends Singles Final 🏆
Andy v John

It was a very close match throughout, with both players playing some great bowls. The score was tied at 4–4 going into the final end.

Andy played a long jack and finished with a super end, lying 3 shots to secure the win 7–4.

Congratulations Andy. 🏆👏 A great final from both players. 💙 Thank you Neil H for marking.

Progressive Pairs

For our final Wednesday Hat of the season, we mixed things up with a fun (but still competitive 😄) game of Progressive Pairs.

Playing in pairs, everyone played four ends before moving on, winners moved one rink to the right, while the other pair stayed where they were.

There were plenty of laughs, some great bowls and, of course, a little friendly competition!

A great way to round off our Wednesday Hats for the season.

🏆 Mixed Pairs Final 🏆

Congratulations to Kay & John, who won today’s Mixed Pairs Final against Sandra & Neil B, 16–10. 👏

It was a closely fought match, with the score level at 6–6 and some very tight ends, one even requiring Umpire N Murray to come onto the green, with no shot eventually declared! 😮

Some great bowls from all four players and fantastic sportsmanship throughout. A super final for the spectators to enjoy. 💙

🏆 CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 🏆

Tonight saw Derek Ambrose v Sandra Masson battle it out in our Championship Final.👏

Our spectators thoroughly enjoyed watching some excellent bowls from both players.

🏆 Huge congratulations to Derek, who has regained his title as Drumlithie Bowling Club Champion! Very well deserved! 👏👏

And a massive well done to Sandra, our Ladies Champion. To reach the Championship Final and put on such a great performance in only her second season of bowling is a brilliant achievement.

Well done to you both, a great way to round off our Championship. 💙

🏆 2-4-2 FINAL 🏆

Neil H & Liz v Neil M & Shona

The finalists faced some challenging weather tonight; wind, rain and the occasional dry spell! 🌧️💨 Full waterproofs were definitely required! 😂

Neil H & Liz took an early lead, but Neil M & Shona dug deep and fought their way back into the game.

With some great bowls all round (and the odd wickie 😄), Neil H & Liz managed to secure the win. 👏🏆

A special mention to Liz and Shona, who are both in their first season of bowling and have already made it to a final, a fantastic achievement for them both. 👏👏

Well done to all four for battling through the conditions, and congratulations to Neil H & Liz, our 2-4-2 winners! 🎉🏆

It wouldn't be a Drumlithie Open Triples without the excitement of the Spider😄
