WALTON 3rd IN THE COUNTRY💪🏼

Our Walton Y8/9 team attended the National Schools Touch Rugby Championships at Oxford Harlequins RFC today; finishing 3rd in the country.

After a strong start in the first game, we narrowly lost 3-2 in our second game against the eventual finalists.

It was then our turn to feature in the NEXTGEN Rugby Livestream in our third game, where we put on a show for the cameras.

We then had it all to play for in our 4th and final game in the pools, with us knowing a win would ensure a place in the final. Unfortunately, we lost 3-2 in an end to end game, against the eventual winners Harrodian School.

This meant we went in to play the 3/4th playoff game, and much like England, we played with freedom and enjoyment in this game to run away with it.

Well done to the whole team, with seasoned rugby players playing with players who’ve not played rugby before.

What an example of what our Walton kids can achieve. Well done to all. An absolute credit to their parents and to the school🔴⚫️

Huge congratulations to Ben in year 11 who was competing for the West Midlands MTB XC team today at Margam Park, Port Talbot!!!

Well done to both of our teams who continued to compete today, all of us in the West Midlands are incredibly proud of you! 💪

… but as the day concludes… West Midlands Team 1 have been crowned Inter-Regional CHAMPIONS!!! 🥇🏆🎉

INCREDIBLE achievement, huge congratulations to every single rider! 👏

Well done to all the riders who competed for their respective regions, and a massive thank you to all the organisers, volunteers, and parents who make events like these possible. None of this happens without you! 🙏
