Two really enjoyable games and two strong performances from the boys.

Saturday vs Ardgowan Thistle Gold

Ardgowan played some excellent football and came flying out at the start of both halves, putting us firmly on the back foot.

The hard work the boys have put in during pre-season really showed, though. We stayed in the game, kept working and finished both halves strongly, with some late goals making the difference.

🔥 Max Grumoli was on fire throughout and fully deserved his Man of the Match award.

A special mention as well to Ardgowan's number 7, who scored an unbelievable hat-trick, including an absolutely superb bicycle kick. 👏⚽

Wednesday vs Houston United

Another really good test against a Houston side who played some lovely football.

While the goals at the other end will grab attention, Robbie Ramsay was every bit as important, pulling off some wonderful saves at key moments. 🧤👏

Again, our fitness and determination showed towards the end of both halves. Scoring late in each half is becoming a real strength of this team and hopefully something we can continue to build on.

Two good games, plenty of positives and still plenty for us to work on.

The Guid Kitchen PLAYER OF THE MONTH - JULY

Well done Tymur In being voted POTM for July. Tymur has been in the top 2 for several months and could have won it several times. He finished the season excellently and has started back with two man of the match performances. He's been really pushing himself at the fitness as well. 3 goals in 2 games!

Well done to all our teams this weekend!

Delighted for our 2008s who finished top of the qualification group and have secured a place in the Scottish amateur premiership. Thanks to Milngavie Wanderers U19s for an amazing game of football. Both teams played some great football.

Dumbarton United AFC 2012 came back from 3-1 down in the first half to wing 5-4 in another amazing game of football against St Mirren. What a comeback!

Dumbarton United 2014s finished pre season strongly and played some excellent football in their last game before they begin their competitve football journey. They will smash it!

2015s had some close games those weekend and got plenty of goals in the 3 matches. The team are really looking forward to the new season ⚽️

We did consider covering the Erskine Bridge closure, but due to the bridge still being under contract with Bishopton FC, we feel it would be inappropriate to comment on another team’s player. 🤝😂

Although if we win, expect us to mention “group winners” roughly 46 times this weekend. 😂

VAR at East End Park remains three dads behind the barrier shouting “HE WAS MILES ONSIDE!” 😂

🟡 2014s — Away v Cambuslang Soccer Centre
Sat-navs on, coffees bought… someone will still end up at the wrong pitch. 🤦‍♂️😂
