Massive congratulations to Scottish examiner Karen Gage as she retires from examining for the RAD after 56 years- what an incredible number of years! Karen was also the former owner and Principal of Dansarena, Ayr. Wishing Karen and husband Dennis a very happy retirement and thank you for examining thousands and thousands of students all over the world over the last 6 decades (Photo K Gage)

As much as we love this time of year, welcoming new stars into our dance family 🌟 we also are a little sad as we have to say goodbye to some of our senior students 😢
This year we bid Graham a fond farewell as he heads off to Perth to follow his Musical Theatre dreams 🎭

Here's what he had to say about his time at DSoD

I’ve spent the majority of my life dancing, starting at BalletBox from a young age then moving to DSOD. The whole time I’ve been at both dance schools I’ve always felt incredibly welcomed by everyone. It’s been such a joy through the years to not only improve my dance skills but also meet so many great people who I get to call my friends.
As much as I love doing the exams, the shows were always a highlight for me as getting up on stage and performing is what I live for, and it’s what I’m going to do at university as I’m going to go to UHI in Perth to do a 2-year Musical Theatre HND. Something about performing just speaks to me, and I’m so glad that dancing has helped me to continue my dream.
Overall, I’ve had an amazing time dancing at both of the schools and wish everyone the best for the future.

Everyone of your DSoD family wishes you lots of luck Graham, we can't wait to follow your career 🎭🌟💖

This beautiful girl, Emilia has worked her socks off to travel down to London to sit her RAD Advanced 1 Ballet Examination at Headquarters.

We have worked tirelessly together over the past few months
with the help of the other DSoD teachers, Miss Nicola, Miss Cat & the amazing Miss Mitchell even travelled through to Dumfries to coach her too

It has been a complete pleasure to work with you sweetheart & I really can’t wait to see what the future holds for you ♥️🌟♥️
