How is it possible to miss a road as much as I miss this one? Simple, it’s Sweden 🇸🇪

Enjoy a few minutes of driving leading up to our first puncture on Sunday’s stages.

I was happy with how my written pacenotes were working. The ever-moving anti-cut devices and constant high speeds made it difficult, but when everything comes together, it’s an incredible feeling.

The puncture also burst a brake line in here, so it’s fair to say Harry and I had our work cut out for us after crossing the flying finish!

How good was it to see Calum & Claudia MacLeod over from Germany in there stunning Bgmsport prepped MG s2000 competing on this weekends

One of British rallyings biggest supporters, backing the Scottish Rally Championship, funding live streams and supporting multiple drivers competing!

Unfortunately a silly mechanical hampered their weekend but I know for a fact there were some big smiles up until that point.

It was a bitterly disappointing end to our day yesterday in Ss8 ‘Monastero - Monte Livata’ when we arrived at a tight 2 left slightly too fast and pulled the handbrake to try and rotate the car into the corner but the surface was very slippery and we caught the rear wheel on a rock face and it was game over. Three other cars joined us, 2 of which were seriously close to hitting the Fiesta.

Again, the margins were extremely fine at this level especially on such demanding stages. We learned an unbelievable amount this weekend, like how important it is to have a recce car with working A/C in 37 degree heat… never felt anything like it!

Felt like we were having some serious bad luck since the brake line burst before we even got into the first stage! If you weren’t mechanically minded you’d never last at these events, me and Harry haven’t half had our work cut out for us.

Plenty of positives to take away and we were really happy with the improvement in pace on tarmac. We’ve done plenty of studying and can see where the time loss is.

Sorry to all of our sponsors, supporters and friends following the journey for another disappointing result. We will build on it and only take the positives away! We’re still smiling 💪🏽

Thanks to the guys in service for all the hard work over the weekend, thanks to Andy & Robbie for getting the car and equipment where it needed to be on time and with no stress. Thanks to Audrey for keeping everyone well fed. Thanks to Harry for keeping us on the right roads and staying on top of everything this event threw at us. 662km we drove yesterday in the car! I’ve never done an event so physically demanding. For a change i’m missing the typical Scottish rain, this heat is savage!

After rectifying our brake line issue we picked away at the stage’s and found a decent rhythm. It’s very positive to see a big improvement in pace compared to Sierra Morena. We struggled in the final stage of the day running so far back into the darkness but still we were happy to finish up without a mark on the car.

After two DNF’s this year we really need to focus on keeping our noses clean and getting a finish in the bag. The chances of a good result are ruined by our time penalty and issues anyway!

412km ahead of us today so another long day, looking forward to the stages and challenge ahead!
