There are 3 events to go for the South of Scotland Golfers Association this season.

SHAMASH-TROPHY
This is being held at Dumfries and County Golf Club on Sunday 20th September and is 36 hole gross strokeplay.

2025 BARRY SCOTT TROPHY
This event like last year is being held within the Shamash Trophy. The Barry Scott Trophy is open to all south club champions strokeplay (including qualifiers) and matchply 2025 along with all order or merit winners.

ALAN LIGHTBODY TROPHY
This event is 18 holes 4bbb pairs event and is open to any players who are members of South of Scotland clubs. The event is being played at Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club on Sunday 27th September.

It was a real busy day today, at the club, and a great turnout of juniors for the adult junior 4 hole team trophy, the Grant Hanley adult junior 7 hole pairs, the Ross trophy 11 hole adult junior pairs, the 18 hole adult junior pairs shield and last but not least, the Mike Garnett junior putting trophy.

Congratulations to Alice Murphy on winning the junior Championship today defeating Jaiden Simpson in a final played in a great spirit.
This win secures a wonderful double for Alice as she is also the current ladies champion. A magnificent feat.
Im sure Jaiden will go on to secure many victories in the years ahead but today belonged to Alice.

The 'Costly Cup,' junior championship trophy, will have a new name engraved on it this year as Jaiden Simpson and Alice Murphy go head to head over 36 holes.
This will be Jaidens last chance to add the championship to his list of junior honours, Alice having a few more junior years to come.
An intriguing match in prospect, well worth a visit to the club on Sunday to watch these two fine players battle it out for the championship.

Great day of golf to enjoy and help in the development of our juniors.

Well another great weekends golf at the D&G, many thanks to the 51 Teams and Pros that played over the 2 days, special mention to the sponsors of the event, led by Kerr Investments, and the rest of the valued event sponsors, without your continued support the event would not be possible, the ongoing success of this competition is due to the dedication of Douglas Alison and his Pro Am team

Now for the results, congratulations to the winning team from Trevor Huxtable Joinery, with their 248 total just piping the Farmcare team by virtue of the slghtly better score on the Sunday, excellent scoring by the joint winners of the professional event, Gavin Hay and Greg Dalziel both scoring 64's on Saturday followed by 65's on Sunday

A final thanks to all the support teams at the club, Greenkeepers, CJM Catering at Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club, and the team in the Pro Shop - onwards to 2027
