Felippe “Macaco” Oliveira has been a fantastic addition to the Origin Jiu-Jitsu Scotland family.
His passion, energy, and love for Jiu-Jitsu have been a joy to be around, and he will be greatly missed as he returns home to São Paulo, Brazil, to be with his family.
It was a true honour to promote Macaco to faixa marrom before he leaves—a well-deserved milestone that reflects his dedication both on and off the mats.

Nur has been absolutely dominating the competition scene, bringing home gold every time. Now it’s time for the next chapter — stepping up to blue belt 🔵

Simon’s been putting in the work since moving back a few months ago, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. A true gentleman on the mats, but a serious challenge to roll with. Proud to promote him to purple belt 🟣

It was great to welcome our extended family from Blackford, Newcastle, and DMMA — the energy on the mats was unreal.

The day was made even more special with some well-earned promotions. Huge congratulations to everyone who picked up stripes on their belts — your hard work is showing 👏

A special mention to our new blue belts:

Ben — an amazing addition to the team from day one. Tough on the mats, a great training partner, and always friendly and supportive.

Steph — balancing a full-time job, motherhood, and chronic migraines, yet still showing up and putting in the work. Truly inspiring.

And last but definitely not least…

Scott — alongside his dad Rodger and brother Euan, he’s been a cornerstone of the team since the beginning. One of the most technical athletes at Origin, with outstanding knowledge and top-level coaching.

A hugely deserved brown belt after 8+ years of dedication 💪
