BookAntics is back!

Every first Saturday of the month, we run a FREE family-friendly book club in ScrapAntics at the Wellgate Shopping Centre in Dundee. This is a friendly, safe environment to make friends, share stories and take part in crafts to explore the message in our favourite books further.

While the club is aimed at children aged 5-12 to attend with a supportive adult, children of all ages are welcome.

ScrapAntics were so saddened to hear the news that the iconic Dolly Parton passed away last week. We have received and promoted support from Imagination Library as part of Booknic events alongside our partners across the city. Her commitment to education, providing equal opportunities and spreading joy and kindness were internationally recognised and resonate with the values we hold here in ScrapAntics. We continue to be inspired by her - supporting our community and creating opportunities for fun, creativity and to use your imagination. Free books are always available to collect from our Community Hub in the Wellgate Shopping Centre.

Be a little bit more Dolly this week (and always!) - come read a book, make a friend and let that imagination run wild! 🦋✨

Thanks to everyone who came to last week's bagsale!

You took a total of 1104.25kg over the 5 days which is a huge amount of material, stamps, craft and DIY resources redirected to be used again.

Shop is back into normal mode now with a little bit more space and plenty of fresh stock making its way out over the week.

Thanks again and hope you all got some bargains last week!

From mindful watercolours to leather work, toy making to loose parts play sessions. There’s something to suit everyone. We provide all materials and instruction, can travel all across Scotland and you’ll have the support of our dedicated team throughout the event!

Join us for Uppertunity on Show: 11th Birthday Bash, a fun evening celebrating 11 years of Uppertunity! 🥳

There will be live drumming, dance, creative cat walks and parades, member stories, poetry, audience activities, food, and a chance to celebrate the creativity, confidence and talent of our amazing community.

Looking for FREE activities to keep the whole family active and entertained this weekend? We’ve got you covered 😎

Our Loose Parts Play Team will be at Up & Coming Whitfield @ Whitfield Community Garden, Summerfield Avenue on Saturday 15th August between 12.30 and 3pm - Free to attend!

Never been to Loose Parts Play with ScrapAntics? Don’t worry - all you need to bring is yourself and an open mind. Our dedicated team of play workers will provide all the materials and support you need to let your imagination run wild building, creating and role playing together in the park.

All of our materials are donated or rescued from landfill to be used as the most unique playground! No two sessions are the same so keep your eyes peeled for more events! 👀
