🤽🏻‍♂️ U19 Male & Open Water Polo 🤽🏻‍♂️

The 2026/27 Scottish National League water polo season kicked off today at Carnegie Leisure Centre with a bang 🤩

Our U19 boys were in action playing against their friends from Dunfermline Water Polo Club.

The game started off as a very even competition, Dunfermline raced into a 2-0 lead before we were able to get on the score board. Goals from George, Alex and Reuben took the score at the end of Q1 to 4-3.

There were 2 more goals from Dunfermline in Q2 but we managed to score 3 through Matthew and Rueben (2) meaning it was 6-6 at half time.

Q3 is where our team work kicked in and the communication and work ethic went up a gear, we scored 3 goals through George, Jamie and Archie while Dunfermline only scored 1 in return. The score was 7-9 going into Q4.

After gaining an exclusion, coach Ruth called a time out however we couldn’t take advantage and score. With both teams working extremely hard in attack and defence, goal keeper Finlay was amazing in goal, making saves and keeping the boys in the game. While Dunfermline managed to score 2 more goals we also managed to score 2 through Alex and Archie. The final score was a 9-11 win to the Menzieshill Whitehall team and a great way to start the league campaign 🤽🏻‍♂️🤽🏻‍♂️

Well played to the whole team and thanks to Ruth for coaching and James for being TM. Thanks also to Dunfermline for hosting and to the refs and table officials.
