Senior Gents Stableford Open at Downfield

It's Thursday 1st October, a beautiful day for the Senior Gents Stableford Open to get under way. Once again, the event is fully subscribed with 137 players participating in the event.

We thank everyone for supporting the event, the Greens team for preparing the course in immaculate condition, the Professional shop staff for looking after all players needs on the day, the Clubhouse team for the bar and catering and of course Lana for undertaking the starting duties providing that warm welcome to Downfield that we are all accustom to.

It's October and what a day - See photo attached for the view out the Clubhouse!

On Saturday 5th September the ladies held their annual Solheim Cup event. 22 ladies took part and split into teams for USA and Europe. Team kits were issued and the challenge was set. The format included foursomes, fourballs and singles matches.

Non playing Captains and Vice Captains zipped around in decorated buggies to encourage their teams out on the course.
Norma Smith and Jackie Moran for USA
Catriona Dallas and Eleanor Johnstone for Europe

This year for the first time USA were victorious. Many thanks go to Kath Stewart and Elaine Lowe who organise this event each year. All their hard work resulted in a fantastic, fun event, enjoyed by all who took part.
