A fantastic milestone is approaching for Graeme Garden, who, with just four games remaining in the season, is looking increasingly likely to finish as the Forty Club Scotland's leading run scorer. Graeme has already joined an exclusive group, becoming just the tenth player to score 500 or more runs in a season — a remarkable achievement that underlines his consistency and skill throughout the campaign.
With 741 runs to his name and six fifties already this season, Graeme has put together an outstanding run of form and looks to have set a total that will be extremely difficult to catch.
With weekend still to play, can Garden add even more runs to what has already been a memorable season?

A number of Courier Country cricketers have helped the Forty Club Scotland team win The Forty Club Inter-District title outright for the first time.

They completed a superb 84-run victory over East Midlands at Benwell Hill Cricket Club’s ground in Newcastle this week in the final.

Asked to bat first, Scotland started strongly with vice-captain Stuart Campbell from Falkland Cricket Club making 38 and captain Shaun Coetzer 77 from 74 balls.

They were supported by 72 from former Cricket Scotland international Ryan Watson of Forfarshire Cricket Club, laying the foundations for a big score.

Julian De Jager of Dunfermline & Carnegie Cricket Club then made 48 not out from just 28 balls as Scotland posted 265-5 from their 40 overs.

The Scots then produced an outstanding bowling performance to restrict their opponents to 181-7 in reply.

Dan Styer of Falkland was the pick of the Scottish bowlers with excellent figures of 3-28 and his club team mate Ryan Hepburn took 1-28.

The Scotland Seniors Cricket over-40s squad, including a number of this team, is now getting ready to head to the World Cup that is to be held in Guyana in October and November and this win will send them off with a spring in their step.
