A disappointing day for the boys today, and one where we simply weren’t good enough.

Credit to our opponents they took the opportunities when they came their way and punished us.
But from our side, there are no excuses. We lacked aggression, didn’t make enough of the possession we had, and gave away some poor, avoidable goals which ultimately cost us.

The biggest frustration is that we know this group is capable of so much more. On their day, they are a match for anyone at this level. But football doesn’t work on potential you have to turn up and perform consistently.

Having only 2 or 3 players at their maximum isn’t enough to win games consistently. We need everyone demanding more from themselves, showing more aggression, competing for every ball and maintaining the standards we know they are capable of.

Today needs to hurt. It should hurt because we know it was an opportunity missed.

The important thing now is how we respond.

There’s a busy period ahead as we build towards Christmas, and the boys need to learn quickly from today, raise the standards and show the consistency required.

⚽️ The Season So Far ⚽️

The boys have enjoyed a well deserved break this week, but it’s back to work from Monday as we begin preparations for another big game next Sunday.

We’ve made a positive start to the new season, progressing in all three cup competitions and recording 2 wins from our opening 4 league games.

There is, of course, still plenty of room for improvement, but the squad continues to work hard, develop and show real promise.

The run of fixtures between now and Christmas will be an important one as we look to build momentum before the next break.

Here’s a look at some of the goals we’ve scored in our league campaign so far. ⚽️

A huge thank you, as always, to our fantastic main sponsors for their continued support:

Enigma Industrial Services 🛠️
Rough & Fraser 🧁
L & M Scaffolding Ltd 🛠️
Discovery Fire Sprinklers Ltd🔥
MH Plumbing & Heating 🪠

Your support is hugely appreciated and plays an important part in what we’re able to provide for the boys. 👏

Back to work Monday. Another big game ahead. 💪⚽️

We travelled through to St Andrews this morning knowing we were in for a tough game.

Having visited the same team and pitch during pre-season and suffered what was, quite frankly, our worst ever performance, there was absolutely no doubt about what was expected of the boys today.

The message was clear. The minimum requirements were set, work hard, compete, be brave and stick together.

And boy, did they deliver.

Two quick fire goals gave us the perfect start and, more importantly, gave the boys belief. From there, we worked incredibly hard off the ball, forcing St Andrews into mistakes and making it difficult for them to settle and play the football they wanted.

It was exactly what we'd asked of the group all week.

St Andrews pulled a goal back just before half-time, giving them a lift going into the break, and we knew we were going to have to dig deep in the second half.

And that's exactly what the boys did. 💪

We came under a lot of pressure, but we stuck together. Players backed each other up, threw themselves in front of the ball when it mattered, and our goalkeeper made a couple of huge saves at important moments.

The substitutes also played a massive part, coming on and giving us the fresh legs and energy we needed to get us over the line.

Was it pretty at times? Absolutely not.

But was it everything we needed it to be? 100%

These are the types of performances that build teams. The grit, determination, resilience and togetherness shown today are exactly what we need to take into every game.

And from a coaches' point of view, one of the most pleasing things was seeing both goals come directly from things we've been working on over the last few weeks.
That's what it's all about putting the work in during training and then having the belief to execute it when it matters.

A massive well done to every single player today. 👏

A difficult pitch. A difficult opponent. A difficult second half.

But we dug in, stayed together and came away with three massive points.🔥

Proud of you boys.

We travelled up to Aberfeldy this morning for our Scottish Cup round 2 tie against Breadalbane.

It was a really wet and cold day, but the boys set out early on to press our opponents and squeeze the game into their half. We did this really well, although we didn’t create too many clear cut chances or really test their goalkeeper enough.

We did, however, find the breakthrough just before half-time, which was probably what we deserved for our first-half efforts. Credit to Breadalbane, who defended really well and were always looking to hit us on the break.

At half-time we discussed the need to move the ball quicker, take fewer touches, get early crosses into the box and test the goalkeeper more.

We definitely did that in the second half, scoring a few great, well worked goals.

In all honesty, if we had made some better decisions and found the right passes in the final third, we could certainly have scored a few more.

Breadalbane did pull a goal back midway through the half when they eventually caught us out with one of their counter-attacks, but credit to the players for seeing the game out.

The main aim today was to make sure we were in the hat for the next round, get plenty of minutes into everyone and hopefully get a confidence boost after last week’s disappointment and we achieved all three.

A big thank you to Breadalbane for the hospitality and for giving the boys some snacks to take home. We wish you all the very best for the rest of the season.

Our focus now turns back to league action next week as we head through to St Andrews.

Well done, boys 💛🖤

A frustrating afternoon at Fairmuir as we came away empty-handed against DUSC Lions in a game where the boys gave everything.

In a stop start first half, we took the lead midway through the half after some excellent footwork on the edge of the box was followed by a great left footed finish. The goal was reward for a period where we had enjoyed the majority of the territory.

However, with five minutes until half-time, a long ball in behind caught us out and the Lions striker finished well to make it 1-1 at the break.

We made a couple of changes and switched formation at half-time, looking to get more bodies forward and create more opportunities. Unfortunately, the second half continued in a similar fashion to the first, with numerous free kicks and injury stoppages disrupting the flow of the game.

With 17 minutes remaining, we were reduced to 10 men and had to dig in defensively. Credit to the boys, they worked incredibly hard and looked set to take the point their effort deserved.

Sadly, with just two minutes remaining, we were punished again. A moment we'll need to learn from and improve on.

With three minutes of added time to play, we pushed players forward looking for an equaliser, but a poor clearance allowed DUSC to find the bottom corner and seal the win.

A tough one to take. The boys are understandably disappointed, but there were plenty of positives in the effort and commitment shown, particularly after going down to 10 men.

We need to pick ourselves up quickly as we prepare for a big Scottish Cup tie up in Aberfeldy next week.

Keep the heads up, boys. We go again. 💪⚽️
