Camperdown parkrun, Dundee

17/10/2026

What a beautiful - if not a little chilly - autumn morning for a parkrun! 🍂

Well done to all 171 finishers this morning, and a HUGE THANK YOU to all the volunteers that made today's event possible. 👏🏻

We had members of local running club Dundee Roadrunners AC out in force, volunteering, walking and running. DRR have always been big supporters of Camperdown parkrun, be sure to check them out! They have plenty of training sessions (all abilities welcome) and host a variety of races throughout the year, including the upcoming Templeton 10 mile road race. You can enter at https://www.entrycentral.com/templeton10 and enjoy a scenic course, a fantastic bespoke finishers memento, and a complimentary spread of food afterwards. 🫶

Ethan (11) completed his 50th parkrun, and Mike did his 250th (187th at Camperdown). 🎂

We welcomed visitors from North Yorkshire, Jersey, Glasgow and Edinburgh among other places, and people doing their first ever parkrun. We hope you enjoyed your morning and come back again soon! 🔜

We now have enough people for tomorrow’s event, but our friends just along the road at Broughty Ferry Esplanade parkrun still need a couple of people to help out. It’s easy and good fun. Let them know if you can help!

Edit: We now have a marshal and a tailwalker, thank you very much! We're all good to go ahead tomorrow, although if anyone wants to volunteer as a funnel manager or another role, you're of course very welcome.

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered so far, we're just looking for two people to fill the final essential roles for this Saturday:
- Marshal ✅
- Tail walker ✅

We could also do with a funnel manager to help ensure everything stays right with the results.

Looks like it will be a great morning, cool but sunny and relatively light winds!

Can you believe parkun is a full blown adult now... come and help us celebrate particularly if you fancy scanning or giving some tokens out 😉

Another successful parkrun done ✅

185 finishers and 21 volunteers joined in the fun, with plenty to celebrate this morning 🎉

Rudy Phillips ran his 50th parkrun (snagging a PB in the process) and David Aitken hit the 250 mark! Elizabeth Livie also completed her 50th but never got a shout out, so a digital round of applause for you 👏🏻

We had 6 people doing their first ever parkrun - welcome and don’t be put off by the hilly trails of Camperdown! - and visitors from Edinburgh, Ellon, Durham and West Cumbria 🌍

Finally, a big thank you from Run Director Josh to everyone who came to Camperdown parkrun today and was there to wish him a happy birthday 🎂

See you all soon 🔜

A cracking day for Parkrun on Saturday ( sorry of the delay on the report!!) we had 163 who ran, walked and jogged around the course. 4 First ever parkrunners, well done, we hope to see you again, 12 new PB's and a shout out to Donald Martin completing his 100th, well done. Thanks so much to the Dundee City Fostering and Adoption providing many of the volunteers and ensuring all the runners got sweets at the end. Thanks to all that took part and helped see you this week. 😀

We have been reliably informed that there may be cake and other goodies at parkrun this weekend, as it is someone's birthday on Saturday. 🎂

We still need a few more volunteers, so please let us know you can help out, otherwise it will ruin Josh's special day. 🙄

We have a headliner this weekend with the Dundee City Adoption and fostering team.. do come along and find out about their important work.

Well done to the 155 people who completed a rather damp Camperdown course this morning.

We had visitors from Stonehaven and London, and two people completed their first ever parkrun with us today.

If you haven’t volunteered before, please get involved if you can. It’s really good fun, and it’s the volunteers who make it all happen.
