Doing this work early in September allows growth prior to winter setting in.

Saline Golf Club are trialing an automated fairway mower this week.

The mower has been set up to cut fairways 1, 2 and 3.

Please don't touch or try to move the machine or it's docking station / control mast.

Any golf ball in it's path will be nudged to the side.

For this week only, you may replace your ball where it lay, if this happens, without penalty.

What a terrific day's golf we witnessed today at Saline as the 5 Championship Finals were held. Conditions were dry but increasingly windy as the day progressed.

The 2026 Saline Club Champion is Craig Mellon who played excellent, consistent golf to run out a 9&8 winner against Scott Cowbrough to win for a remarkable 17th year ! Craig's last title was in 2019.

The winner of The Nelson Cup ( Handicap Championship) is Pete Jellicoe who, having been tied after 17, won at the last hole in a very closely contested final with Gary Best.

In The Boys Championship, Cameron Craig won another closely contested final by 2&1, beating Michal McDougall. This was Cameron's 4th Boys Title at Saline.

The Girls Championship winner was Hannah Seaman who, in another very close match, just pipped Zoe Robertson at the last hole in front of a good-sized crowd.

And the closest of all the finals was the Ladies. Judy Warrack and Elaine Walinck battled it out until the 3rd extra hole, where Judy holed a good putt from the edge of the green, to win.

Very well done to everyone who played and to the caddies, referees, Robbie and staff on the course, Angie and staff with the catering and of course to Paul Mellon, Clubhouse Manager for everything that he does for the club.
