We ran the drills, put in the hard work on the pitch... and then immediately refuelled with elite athletic performance fuel: Pizza, donuts, and fizzy juice. 🍕🍩🥤

As you can see from the photos, mouthguards are optional, but sugar crashes are guaranteed!

Looking back on this season, the progress every single player has made has been outstanding. From dialing in our plays to bringing high energy week in and week out, the squad has been an absolute joy to coach.

A huge thank you to all our brilliant parents! Thank you for handling the early morning drop-offs, cheering from the sidelines in all weather, and supporting the team every step of the way. We couldn’t do it without you. ❤️

As for the coaches... we’re taking a few weeks off to recover our voices, attempt to explain the rules one more time, and figure out how to burn off all that leftover pizza. 🍕😅

We are thrilled to announce that the Dunfermline Kings are entering SCOFF Winter League 8 (2026–27), bringing squads across all three youth categories: U11, U14, and U17! 👑🔥

It’s going to be a fantastic tournament and the ultimate setup for our future:

Better late than never, right?! Things have been absolute bedlam here at Kings HQ with the U11s and U14s grafting hard, prepping, and tearing it up at the BAFA Regionals. But we couldn’t let June slide by without giving proper credit to three absolute legends who owned the field last month.

U11 Player of the Month: Joseph (a.k.a. "Giuseppe") 🇮🇹⚡

Joseph has slotted into the squad like he’s been here for years. The opposition QBs are already having nightmares about him because once he starts blitzing, there is no escape! A ridiculously hard-working, coachable young man with a top-tier attitude.

U14 Player of the Month: Elias 🏃‍♂️💨

If you put a battery pack in this lad, it would probably run out before he does. Elias has an engine that simply never stops. A defensive powerhouse and blitzing machine, he gives 100% effort every single second he’s on the turf. Incredible work ethic, brilliant reader of the game, and the kind of player every coach dreams of having in their lineup.

U17 Player of the Month: Dom 🛠️ Swiss Army Knife

Need someone to blitz? Dom. Need a clutch catch? Dom. Need someone to line up anywhere on the field and execute the job flawlessly? Dom. He is literally the Swiss Army knife of our U17 team Mr. Dependable himself. Calm under pressure, incredible football IQ, and consistent week in, week out.

WHAT. A. DAY. 🏈

What an absolute rollercoaster in Carlisle! To our players, parents, and coaches: if you were wondering what "grit" looks like, you only had to look at the pitch today.

We know it’s summer holidays and a few of our stars were away soaking up the sun, but the Kings showed up in full force, heart-first.

🛡️ U11 Warriors: Heart of Gold

Our U11s were absolute legends today. Taking the field without their starting QB is a massive challenge for anyone at this level, but did they drop their heads? Absolutely not. Talk about stepping out of comfort zones—we had players slotting into new positions, taking on massive responsibilities on the fly, and executing plays like absolute pros.

They faced three tough, incredibly close losses on the scorecard, but if we were keeping score on determination, hustle, and pure spirit, they would have won every single one. The way they rallied together, cheered each other on after every whistle, and fought for every single yard was beautiful to watch. They showed the entire tournament what a true team looks like. Every single player stepped up, filled gaps, and left everything they had on that field. The future is incredibly bright with this squad—heads held high, because you were brilliant!

💥 U14s: The Rollercoaster

Our U14s put on a masterclass in endurance.

The Draw: A hard-fought battle against the Longhorns to set the tone.

The Thriller: The game against the Salford Scorpions was definitely the game of the day. A total nail-biter that came down to the absolute final play. 19-20 final score—football doesn’t get much more gut-wrenching than that! Both defenses were putting on a clinic, and the offensive plays from both sides were simply outstanding.

The Comeback: Straight after that emotional and physical drain, the squad had to turn around and face the Scunthorpe Alphas. Exhausted? You bet. Did they crumble? Not a chance. They dug deep and delivered a huge win to cap off the day. That is pure character.

🤝 Class Acts All Around

A massive, heartfelt thank you to all the opposing coaches who took the time after the whistles blew to speak with our players and coaching staff. Hearing from rivals just how talented, dangerous, and respected our teams are means the world. It’s a testament to the hard work everyone is putting in, and it proves that people are noticing the incredible potential brewing in this club!

Let’s talk about the parents. We know it’s holiday season. We know people were supposed to be relaxing. Instead, you were in Carlisle, cheering your lungs out and cutting holidays short to support the team. That is the Kings Family on show. Thank you for being the heartbeat of this club.

🏆 SUMMER CAMP: DAY 4 – THE EPIC FINALE! 🏆

The final day is always a chaotic mix of frantic packing, lost socks, and everyone pretending they aren't completely exhausted. But let’s be honest, nobody cared about suitcase zippers today—all eyes were on the ultimate grudge match: Parents vs. Kids. 🎒👀

Game one was an absolute heartbreaker. Our U11s took the parents all the way to a sudden-death playoff before just falling short. The parents celebrated like they’d just won the Champions League final—calm down, folks, you’ve got a massive height advantage and a mortgage, let the kids have a chance! 🤣

Then the older kids stepped up and gave the parents a proper, cracking game of football. The absolute highlight of the entire day, though? Wee Fraser’s five-year-old sister, Isla!

This absolute demon on defense came out of nowhere, flew into the backfield, and sacked Noah! But she wasn't finished. To top off a legendary performance, she took a handoff and went on an explosive 25-yard run, leaving the defense in the dust to score the game-winning touchdown. 📋 Kings Summer Camp 2026: The Recap

What a brilliant four days it’s been. Let's look back at the survival tape:

Day 1: Arrival, high energy, and establishing dominance on the field.

Day 2: Sweating it out in 25°C heat, ruining friendships over high-stakes Uno, and a brilliant vintage bus tour thanks to Eddie! ☀️🚌

Day 3: Proper Scottish drizzle, Coach Craig’s chaotic "Pirates" game, and the coaches successfully smuggling a mountain of blended veg into the pasta sauce without a single fussy eater noticing. 🌧️🥷🍝

Day 4: Packing chaos, parents pulling hamstrings trying to relive their glory days, and a five-year-old taking over the camp.

A massive, heartfelt thank you to the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum for hosting us this week. What an incredible venue and a fantastic experience for the kids. Huge shoutout to everyone involved! 🚍🙌

Kings Summer Camp 2026 is officially wrapped. The kids are exhausted, the parents are definitely going to be sore tomorrow, and the coaches are going into hibernation.

🌧️ Summer Camp: Day 3 – Overcast, Drizzle, and Pure Mania 🌧️

What a difference a day makes! Today we traded the blistering heat for classic overcast drizzle. Honestly? Perfect football weather. The kids couldn't use "but I'm melting" as an excuse to skip drills. 🏃‍♂️💨

We had a packed schedule of highly interesting drills before and after lunch. Coach Craig debuted a brand-new game he invented called "Pirates." To say it was absolute, unadulterated chaos would be an understatement. It was manic, it was loud, and the best part? The kids had absolutely no idea they were actually practicing high-level evasion and flag-pulling techniques. Psychological warfare: Coaches 2, Kids 0. 🏴‍☠️🏈

After lunch, things got serious. We dug into the playbook for some intense offense and defense sessions. We’ve got Regionals next Saturday, and we are not playing around! 🗺️💪

Before dinner, it was time for some well-deserved recognition. We handed out the MVP awards for the last two days. Friday’s absolute legends were Betty and Harrison, and today’s superstars were Gronk and Harper! Massive well done, guys! 🏆⭐️

Tonight’s dinner was a certified classic: homemade turkey mince pasta. And yes, you guessed it—the blender strike team was deployed once again. The homemade sauce was absolutely loaded with heavily disguised, stealthy vegetables. They inhaled it. They have no idea. We are basically nutritional ninjas at this point. 🍝🥷

After dinner, we kept the momentum going with route tree and catching practice, putting the QBs and receivers through their paces. We finished the session with an old-school, legendary classic: Flag Bulldog. 🐕🐾

Now, we are back at the bunkhouse. The kids are currently fueled up on snacks and hot chocolate, bouncing off the walls, while the coaches have collectively decided that 10:00 PM is an incredibly reasonable bedtime for adults. ☕️🥱
