Monday Mobility: Clock and Walls for Complete Shoulder and Spine Mobility
Monday Mobility has always been one of my most popular threads.Today though is a cracker, at least in my mind.Much of the mobility work I prescribed is heavily influenced by the various martial arts disciplines I've been exposed to, some are from the gymnastics and movement culture and a great deal....

Check this message out from a lady I'm helping out.
A bit of context...
She'd hit a rough patch, lots of "life" was happening, and she was feeling lost and alone.
This can happen to anyone!
I've been there
And all the "who's gonna carry the boats" hoo-ha nonsense becomes meaningless when you become the boat, when you are floundering and can't see a way out.
I've had semi-pro athletes hit that spot
I've had new parents hit that spot
It's incredibly common with my injury management work, hard charging individuals suddenly losing their identity after a bad injury
But this is why we reach out
We have a network of friends, and we have professionals we can go to for expert help.
And if that help gets you back being you, then it becomes priceless
If you find yourself saying that you're proud of yourself, that is priceless
I get that asking for help can be difficult
But it's way easier than being adrift and not knowing how to get back on track.
I'm proud of this lady, hopefully I'm as proud of her as she is.
She's shown herself that regaining your sense of self is simple, but not easy.
It takes attitude to recognise you need help and to reach out.
It takes attitude to accept that hel, make it your own and run with it.
This is why I like to say Attitude is Everything
And yes, everything is trainable

On recommendation, I have LinkedIn profile
Not sure why, but I've taken their advice
It is brand new as the old one is tied to an old email I no longer have.
Anyone who is on LinkedIn, please look me up and leave a comment or recommendation.
Thanks

Recovery
In our quest for novelty and busyness we forget the fundamental basics that have worked for time immemorial.
Without doubt the key to recovery is, and has always been Calories and Counting Sheep
Ie, get some fuel in and get some sleep.
It may seem too simple, too easy, not sexy enough
But truth be told, the simple stuff is almost always the best stuff
Keep it simple, and occasionally easy

New Blog Post:
Don't Allow Your Athletic Posture Become Your Daily Living Posture
Which is a quote I've stolen and paraphrased from Grey Cook I believe.
If anyone has the original quote and source, please send it on
Don't Allow Your Athletic Posture Become Your Daily Living Posture
There is a quote that has been rattling around in my head for a while,so long in fact I have it a little mixed up and am no longer evenconvinced of the source. However, it's a quote I have paraphrased a lot, especially these lastcouple of weeks with a number of clients."Do not allow your athletic pos...

Admittedly, the majority of folk I've spent time around are from martial arts.
But I've worked with plenty of runners, triathletes, Rugby players and Mountain Bikers.
And outside of individual cases, the tightest hips by sport belong to the GAA.
Now, several years ago I published an eBook on Hip Mobility, its still available on the WG-FIT site, not yet on my davehedges.net site.
But I feel a series of posts coming on talking about the topic of hips and hip mobility.
And maybe a workshop or two.
Throw me a 🦴 in the comments if you're interested in learning more about hip mobility
