Progress that honours your needs will always outlast progress that ignores them 👌
When I move with purpose whilst staying regulated I am aiming to land in that space where effort meets awareness. It’s where I’m pushing my edge in that moment but still harnessed in safety, meaning I can still access and notice breathing shifts, make intentional decisions and remain curious in the challenge.
When we operate outside our capacity the nervous system shifts into survival and the ego rushes in to protect. This is usually when awareness fades and the work stops being aligned.
Growth requires challenge and effort NOT panic and chaos 🤯
You can still make progress just not at the cost of presence .
For me it’s not about arriving first, it’s about arriving as a whole human fully connected to the experience, not disconnected from it.
It may take longer to get there but it lasts longer 👊🏻

The nervous system doesn’t just regulate through rest, it also regulates through connection ✨
Last week I had a surprise visit from my family and it reminded me how restorative safe connection can be. The right people can reset you just as deeply as sleep or food.
I believe that one of the most effective forms of recovery is simply being with people who make your system feel safe ❤️

Reframing Consistency For Women - Part 2
As mentioned in my previous post 👉🏻consistency for women isn’t about rigidity but rather flexibility
This does not mean you are lowering your standards, giving up on strength or choosing ease over effort. You are simply redefining that performance is built in a way that aligns with your physiology, protects your health and honours your capacity
What I continue to see in the fitness space in the pursuit of consistency or meeting external expectations ;
👉🏻 Chronic emotional dysregulation; the by product of that disconnect between what your body feels and how you think you should perform
👉🏻 Subclinical symptoms piling up and being overlooked or accepted lightly since they are so common but in reality are huge red flags
👉🏻 A push through at all costs mindset that ultimately is leading to increased exhaustion, injury and detachment from our own bodies
Reframing consistency for women the Regulated Fitness way looks and feels like ;
👍🏻 Not showing up with the same output or expectations every day
✨ Being able to confidently adjust what you need in real time and to do this with acceptance rather than judgement
👍🏻 To honour your real capacity, not your ideal schedule
✨To pause when needed and understand with compassion that the pause is part of the process
👍🏻 Be influenced by your own personal values versus what others are doing / saying
✨ To feel supported when you choose a different pace
✨ TO REMEMBER YOU STILL BELONG IN THE FITNESS SPACE EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT FOLLOWING THE CROWD ✨

Why “Consistency” is different for women
In fitness (and life) we are constantly told 👉🏻 “Consistency breeds success”
This version of consistency was built around a 24 hour rhythm which the male physiology operates and thrives on. It’s no surprise then that systems designed around sameness tend to work better for men
Women operate and thrive differently. In our active reproductive years our physiology follows a 28 day (ish ) rhythm. Across this time frame our whole system goes through a host of hormonal and physiological shifts. These shifts are not excuses or limitations they are INTELLIGENCE. If we ignore or suppress them in the pursuit of consistency, we do not become more disciplined we become more disconnected
Yes, research shows women can make performance gains across the month, but that doesn’t mean we should be trying to show up the same each day, especially if we wish to keep our health intact
As an active woman/ coach in the fitness space i have spent these past 10 years doing things so fu***ng differently to what I had been doing in the first 11 years of my journey. The lesson 👉🏻 consistency and discipline for the female physiology is FLEXIBILITY, rooted in AWARENESS & TRUST
