Business Update

You may have noticed we’ve been a little quieter on social media lately.

Helen and I have been spending time discussing the next steps for our business. It’s no secret that the past year has been incredibly tough. Many small businesses have been forced to close their doors as the market has changed, customers have less disposable income, and ongoing challenges continue to make running a small business increasingly difficult.

Alongside this, big changes are ahead for Helen and her family. Her two eldest boys will soon be finishing full-time education. Both have autism and will require a much higher level of support once this chapter ends, meaning Helen’s available time will understandably be more limited.

This isn’t the end of DBS, though. We plan to keep things ticking over in a more scaled-back and manageable way. We’ll continue to stock our core lines and may offer the occasional pre-order for new designs, but operations will be simpler for the foreseeable future.

Our hope is to keep the door ajar and, when the time feels right and the market improves, potentially ramp things up again in the future.
