So last weekend I had the privilege of being loaned and driving a Bedelia Cyclecar from 1912 at this year’s Slowth. A car I’ve known of for many years and a car I borrowed 26 years ago for my first trip to when they needed one for the style et Luxe concourse. Bedelia were the first of the real Cyclecars. Tandem two seater with the passenger sitting behind the driver and powered by a mighty 1200cc 90 degree V twin engine of their owned making. Twin belt drive which are tensioned by a large lever which moves the rear axle back thus providing drive and then forward for the clutch ( oh and brakes as well. ). Lots of levers and not enough hands. The first run around the track was quite possibly the most terrifying drive and Duncan Pittaway said he wished he’d taken a photo of the look on my face! But once I got the hang of it, I was able to give people rides all weekend. My dad’s old friend Jacques Potherat’ grandfather was one half of the founders of the Bedelia and I like to think he was in the passenger seat. Driving it; I can only imagine it’s the nearest I’ll get to piloting an early aircraft and trying to navigate a narrow boat at the same time. Special thanks go to our hosts for the weekend, the owner ( Mr TC), Alain Gallego, Jacques Potherat, Mark Morris and all the other Slowthers and pushers. Such a fabulous weekend. Enjoy being a passenger in a 1912 Bedelia

We love all things Bugatti here at Gunn and Co and a few years ago Tula engineering produced a limited batch of baby Bugatti type 35's and we have been alerted by an old friend who is parting with his original Tula engineering 1/2 scale type 35. The actual mini Bugattis made by Bugatti are known as the type 52 and are much smaller in scale and were original built by Bugatti for children.
The Tula built cars were made for kids and adults to drive, the throttle pedal can be moved to accommodate adult legs. When Tula Engineering became Tula precision, this particular car was fitted with a new engine as per the Tula Precision baby Bugattis. There is a separate starter with it, and leather seats are fitted. We're told It'll do about 30mph. This is a fun little car and is only for use on private land and is not road legal. A lovely hot rod outside the Goodwood hotel this evening. An oddly refreshing site this evening and a deviation from the normal car park Range Rover and Jaguar fest.

Lots of fettling done on this little car. Gearbox change has been perfect. Such a brilliant car and I’m proud to have built it. Ticks along in top gear at 42 mph and is probably the nearest thing I’ll ever get to being a pilot. Now waiting for the festival of slowth in a couple of weeks. Read about the whole story of the build in the current issue of .

Just finished the restoration of this vintage delivery bicycle for in Sloane Street - London. It was very sad when it arrived It was missing its front carrier stand - so I made one. Then it was completely dismantled, original chrome was recovered, polished and sealed with ( thanks for the introduction). All the painted parts including the rims were sent away to be blasted and powder coated by who did a brilliant job as always. Hand cut and rolled black enamel spokes in the workshop and wheels rebuilt, a good used B66 leather saddle fitted and replacement grips, brake blocks, tyres and tubes, freewheel and chain. Very pleased with the end result. A sort of restopreservation. Days go into these jobs. But it’s rewarding to know it’s going to be back on display outside who have a royal warrant for HM - The King. 👑

Marcel Gobillot was a pillar of French cycling during the 1920s. An Olympic Gold Medalist (Antwerp, 1920), he was a specialist in the brutal "Classics" and a veteran of the legendary 1926 Tour de France. After retiring from the professional circuit in 1931, Gobillot remained a prominent figure in the cycling industry, lending his name and expertise to a limited number of high-quality, hand-built machines like this one. A high quality racing bicycle in original finish with a rare Nivex rear derailleur. Currently available for sale with us at Gunn & Co. More details and photo gallery are on our website via our profile or in the comments below.

On recent trip to France, I spotted this fabulous postcard on the wall of an Alpine restaurant which I’d had the pleasure of enjoying its culinary delights. I’m thinking road skiing? Any ideas? 🇫🇷
