🏐 NETBALL COACH WANTED! 🏐

Are you passionate about netball and keen to support young players to develop their skills, confidence and love of the game?

Berwickshire High School is looking for a Netball Coach to work with our S3 and Open Netball Teams.

📍 Berwickshire High School
📅 Thursdays
⏰ 5pm–6pm

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and able to create a fun, positive and supportive environment for our pupils. Previous coaching experience or qualifications would be fantastic, but they are not essential.

🏐 No coaching qualifications? No problem! If you have a passion for netball and working with young people, we can look at supporting you to gain the relevant coaching qualifications.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced coach, former player, qualified umpire or someone who simply loves netball and would like to get involved in supporting young people through sport.

DanceAbility is our dedicated SEN dance class, created for children and young people who may experience physical, neurological or developmental barriers to accessing a regular dance class.

With a more flexible pace, support and an adaptable approach, DanceAbility gives every dancer the opportunity to move, create, express themselves and experience the joy of dance in a way that works for them.

Sessions focus on building confidence, coordination, creativity and connection, with activities and movement adapted to individual needs and abilities. There’s no pressure to keep up or fit a particular mould as we meet each dancer where they are and celebrate their own progress.

Duns Badminton Club are relaunching their Junior Coaching Sessions for the new year! 🎉

It’s fantastic to already have so many pupils from across our cluster schools getting involved and enjoying badminton, and we’d love to see even more young people take part.

✨ Young Leadership Training Day 1

Today we welcomed 50+ young people to our first Young Leadership Training Day of the year, hosted across Inspire Learning and Tweedbank Sports Complex. What a fantastic group! 🙌🏻

For the first time, we brought together pupils from all three of our young leadership programmes:

🏅 Young Ambassador
💪🏻 Young Leader Academy
👩🏻 Fit For Girls Ambassador

And what a success it was! A particular highlight was having a full complement of pupils from Berwickshire High School across all three programmes – fantastic to see so many young leaders getting involved 👏🏻

It was an action-packed day, with everyone starting the morning with a presentation on the Youth Achievement Award before splitting off into their programme-specific sessions:

🔹 Young Ambassadors – bespoke Young Ambassador workshop followed by Competition Organiser Training.

🔹 Young Leader Academy – Introduction to Coaching Children and Competition Organiser Training.

🔹 Fit For Girls Ambassadors – Team Building, a fantastic Scottish Cycling workshop and Fit For Girls Part 1 training.

A huge thank you to our representatives from Sportscotland and Scottish Cycling for their valuable input and support throughout the day, and of course to our fantastic Active Schools team for delivering sessions and supporting our young people.

It was brilliant to see so much enthusiasm, energy and leadership potential across the room 🤩

Day 2 takes place in October – we can’t wait to see what this fantastic group of young leaders achieves between now and then! 💥
