Residents of Meadowfield, you might have noticed some new artwork on the ramps that have been in a state of disrepair since they were painted nearly 10 years ago. This is part of an ongoing project where the ramps will be painted by local artists many times over the coming years, ensuring any damage is quickly covered up. We hosted a workshop at the weekend, and will continue to have a presence there to ensure we're engaging with the people who use/see the ramps. If you do notice any damage, you can get in touch with us via message or email [email protected] or grab some paints and create something to cover it yourself!
If you'd like to take part in a workshop, or are interested in painting your local skatepark, please get in touch.

Monday evening update! 👀
After a great discussion with Paul Taylor we have a plan beginning to form. Its great to see so many people get behind this project already, please keep sharing.
Behind the scenes we have a meeting to arrange and plans to draw up for the Skate Parks future repair. There has been a mention of some lighting and soft landing areas, we welcome your input for things you'd like to see or equipment you'd like to use.
Stage 1: Repair and reopen
Stage 2: Update and upgrade
Saftey: A reminder that the chains are on the gates because of the poor condition of the park at present. We understand you'll still be using the facilities so please be safe. 😁

Afternoon everyone!
Thank you for the Support so far 😁
Popped by today to grab a few more pictures of what the conditions are like atm. As you can see it's not the best place for our kids to be building a talent.
So I popped back again this lunch time to leave a little nudge towards the support of the page 🙊

Evening everyone.
Today's visit to the Meadowfield Skate Park finds it with chains on the gates and kids using the facilities in the condition below.
Broken half pipe due to fire...🔥
Missing panels
Glass and rubbish 🗑
The wrong type of graffiti
It has been in a state for some time as my visits have found it in a bad and worsening condition for the last 3 years.
So today we created a page to gain community support in the cleaning and repair of the skate park.
A chat with some of the kids using this skate park shows they are keen to help in making this happen and maintain its cleanliness.
I propose to arrange a time and date, supply tools needed, supply paint to cover the old graffiti covered ramps, visit the park on a regular basis to maintain a standard and gain more support in making this Skate Park something for us all to be proud of and use.

Has already raised a case with Durham County Council Clean and Green Team Ref : FS-CASE-236351704
Paul has also informed me that this facility is funded from money raised by the local community. So if anyone is as keen as me to donate time, funds and resources to make this happen please don't hesitate to message the page.
For now we will let this page gain traction and await a reply from
Durham County Council for how to proceed.
Thank you 😁
