Myself and Colin have decided to call it a day with coaching and hang up the whistles. We have other big commitments at the moment, with Colin growing his new business as a personal fitness instructor and me and my wife are expecting twins in the summer. Looking after two new babies and a toddler will certainly be enough to keep me busy!
On behalf of Colin and myself, we would like to thank Steve and Fraser Reynolds for giving us the opportunity to coach and for having supported us to the end. We wish everyone connected to Durham City Juniors the very best in the future.
We would also like to say thank you to both the players and the parents that we have worked with over the last six and a half years. We are both very proud of what we have achieved as a team, in developing the children and we have no doubt that the lads can continue to grow and compete at the top end of the league. Good luck to the new coach, James, who we are sure is the best man to take this team to the next level and keep the tradition of developing players to play without fear and enjoy the game, which is what it is all about.
Finally we would like to wish all the coaches, parents and kids who we have come across over these years all the very best for the future. Continue the great work that you all do! I can honestly say that it has been one of the best things I have ever done and I wouldn’t have done it any other way. We feel we did it the right way. Colin Soulsby
