We continue to be challenged by the standing water at The Recreation Ground, but we have been able to squeeze in one 9 v 9 pitch for Durham United Youth Football Club to get the boys and girls back playing!
Sadly, the standing water on the left side 'half' of the pitch has been a problem since late October and we don't see this changing any time soon. We will manage the ONE 9 v 9 pitch in the coming weeks until we (UMCC and Durham United Youth Football Club volunteers) have dry and warmer weather to allow nature a chance of moving the water off the football pitch.

Well done - see you next Thursday eve at the Recreation Ground for your next home game

POTM⭐️ impossible to choose just one tonight!!
What a way to bounce back! A great team performance from the lasses tonight, Durham were again calm and well organised out of possession, limiting the home side to very few clear cut chances throughout the game. We saw great energy from the wing backs, constant battling in the midfield, resilient defending from the back three, a fantastically well taken goal by Ruby and a brilliant save by stand in keeper Amelia to secure a point on the road 🎉
We go again Sunday! ⚽️

Do you know the Chairman ?
Chair person in any sporting and community club is an essential part to the smooth running; we are lucky that we have Bob as our custodian, but who preceded him ?
Their importance and status can never be overlooked and should always be remembered for the time they give to the wellbeing and enjoyment of its members.
We would like to honour the names and in some small way we have an idea if we can accumulate the names of our senior custodians through the years, going back to 1881 !
Here is the starter for TEN
Bob Hancock 2020 to present
Ray Curry 2017 to 2020
Look forward to your replies; please add the names within the comment box Chairs first name / surname / year(s) of office. Lets hope we can complete that list. Thank you.

Great morning at the Recreation Ground when we took delivery of the tractor, cutter and turf care grooming attachments.
Bob our chairman was all smiles as the committee promise back in 2017 to be the ‘Best we can Be’ took another a leap forward as the machinery will help the cricketers and footballers have deliver improvement playing conditions.
