Durham Pickleball

Last weekend, at yet another awesomely organised and .europe event in Leeds, four of Durham’s finest brought home medals in the mixed doubles on Sunday 💪 Jen and Allan secured bronze in the 35+ mixed, before Dave, who proved that you don’t actually need working ankles to win, and Jan, brought home another pair of bronze medals in the 60+ mixed! Amazing work 👏

Over the same weekend, Owen and Ian made the perilous voyage to Sunderland, managing to escape with yet more bronze medals in tow! (Where are we going to display them all) We would also like to congratulate David and Jill, who may represent Richmond and Wellfield Pickleball Club, but we are willing to begin shared custody proceedings over. They took home gold in the 50+ mixed, absolute legends. Well done to all 👏

Battle after battle, rally after rally, they came, they saw, they performed acceptably. The Durham Warriors are through to the National Championships! See you on the 4th of July Pickleball England does the winner gain independence? 🐧

Another great day of Pickleball at the Viking League!!

We are delighted to announce that we are hosting the first ever "Pickles Professional League" (PPL) an all-canine division.
New historical documents prove the game wasn't just named after Pickles the dog, but was actually invented by him after he got tired of just chasing the ball and decided to start hitting it back.
We will provide a new line of "Paw-ddles" featuring extra-grip handles for mouth-holding and "Slobber-Resistant" balls for better aerodynamics.
New Rules: "The Kitchen" is being renamed "The Doghouse"
The winner of the inaugural PPL Championship won't get a trophy, but a lifetime supply of artisanal, pickle-flavored tennis balls.

We will allow 'Ball Boys' to officially compete—as long as they are Golden Retrievers."
"New 'Dill-Doge' Rule: If a dog runs onto the court and catches the ball, the point must be replayed... after belly rubs."

Another great day of d**king, dropping, volleying and lobbing at the 3rd set of fixtures in the North East Viking Pickleball League - this time at Silksworth Tennis Centre. The DINKERS and WARRIORS remain in their divisions and the DEMONS have been promoted!!!

Congrats to all the players representing the club in the Viking League at the weekend. Lots of fun had by all.
