FOL Whites 4–5 Jarrow Blue

What a game! FOL Whites and Jarrow Blue produced a fantastic end-to-end match, with both sides playing with plenty of energy and attacking intent from start to finish.

Jarrow got off to the perfect start, scoring first, but FOL responded well with Charlie finishing from a Tyler assist to make it 1–1.

Jarrow edged back in front before David brought FOL level again, assisted by Max. The second half continued in exactly the same fashion, with chances and goals at both ends. Jarrow stretched their lead, including a missed penalty, before going further ahead.

FOL never gave up and mounted an excellent late comeback. Vinnie pulled one back with an assist from Miles, before adding another to make it 4-5, this time assisted by Tyler.

Despite the late pressure, Jarrow held on to take the win.

Two goals and a huge contribution to the late comeback.

⭐️ Coaches’ MOTM: Jaxson Smith Rippon Construction
An excellent all-round performance and great energy throughout his time on the pitch.

A brilliant game of football with end-to-end action, plenty of goals and a fantastic never-say-die attitude from FOL Whites. Even though Jarrow took the points, there was plenty to be proud of in the performance.

Foundation of Light Whites 4–1 Houghton Albion

Another brilliant performance from the lads as our 100% start to the season continues!

We somehow went into half-time at 0–0, with the Houghton keeper pulling off a string of great saves to keep us out. We were playing some really good football, creating plenty of chances, and it felt like it was only a matter of time before we got the breakthrough.

A few changes at half-time made an instant impact.

Josh Wayman set up Vinnie Jones to finally make it 1–0 before the roles were reversed, with Vinnie turning provider for Josh Wayman to make it 2–0.

Houghton pulled one back almost immediately, but the lads responded brilliantly. A superb run down the right from Tyler Miller created the opportunity for Vinnie to grab his second of the game and restore our two-goal advantage.

We then sealed the win when Josh picked up his second assist of the game, setting up David Carruthers, who finished well to make it 4–1.

Another really strong team performance and another three points. The football we're playing at the minute is excellent, and the lads kept going even when the goals weren't coming in the first half.

⭐ Coaches Man of the Match – Luke Pemberton TONKS TYRES

Probably Luke's best performance in a FoL shirt. He played some lovely passes out from the back, won a couple of really important challenges and looked composed throughout. He was even unlucky not to get himself on the scoresheet after sending an effort from distance just over the bar. Brilliant performance, Pem!

⭐ Parents Man of the Match – Tyler Miller Blastpro UK

Since signing in the summer, Tyler just can't be stopped! Another goal contribution today and a constant threat for the entire game. His superb run down the right to create Vinnie's second summed up another excellent performance.

Foundation of Light Whites 3–0 Hebburn Town Blues

Another fantastic performance from the lads to make it two wins from two and continue our perfect start to the season!

This one was particularly pleasing after suffering a 2–0 defeat against the same Hebburn side last season. The lads showed just how far they’ve come with a brilliant all-round team display.

Some great play from Tyler Miller created the opportunity for David Carruthers, who produced a fine finish to put us 1–0 ahead.

Josh Wayman then doubled the lead with a superb direct free kick!

With Luke Pemberton moving into a striker role for the final 10 minutes, he held the ball up perfectly for Jaxson Smith to run onto before absolutely smashing it into the top corner to make it 3–0. What a finish!

At the other end, it was a brilliant team defensive performance. Everyone worked for each other to protect the lead and make sure we came away with a thoroughly deserved clean sheet.

The only blip came late on when Pem TONKS TYRES, according to the ref, briefly turned into the Karate Kid 🥋 and picked up a booking for a high foot on the keeper!

⭐️ Coaches’ Man of the Match – Jaxson Smith Rippon Construction

After a few chats during pre-season about the areas we wanted Jaxson to work on, today he did everything we’ve asked of him. His work rate was excellent, he was strong in the tackle and constantly got back to help the defence when needed. He capped off a superb performance with an outstanding goal.

⭐️ Parents’ Man of the Match – Miles Atkinson UntilFailure

Another excellent display at the back. Miles won his battles throughout the game and continued to show real composure on the ball, helping us play out from defence and start attacks.

Two games. Two wins. Two strong performances.

FOUNDATION OF LIGHT WHITES 5–1 COXHOE UNITED

What a way to start the new season!

The lads put in a brilliant team performance today and did everything we asked of them. On a much larger pitch, we spoke beforehand about making good use of the space, moving the ball and working hard for each other — and they delivered from the first whistle.

⭐ Coaches’ MOTM – Tyler Miller Blastpro UK
A fantastic performance on his league debut, claiming 3 assists and causing problems throughout. A brilliant start in a Whites shirt!

⭐ Parents’ MOTM – David Carruthers Chemco Pharmacy
A tremendous striker’s performance from David. His movement, work rate and all-round play showed exactly why we brought him into the squad last season.

Vinnie Jones was his usual energetic self, setting the tempo with his work rate and quality and finishing the game with 2 goals and an assist.

At the other end, there were some really solid performances across the defence, while Max Dodds, as always, was there when called upon and pulled off some fantastic saves.

A great team performance, three points on the board and the perfect start to the season.
