FOL Whites v Hetton Juniors Roma

A tough game today against a very strong Hetton Juniors Roma side, but the lads battled right until the final whistle. 💙

We’re incredibly proud of the effort, determination and attitude they showed throughout. They never gave up, kept their heads high, and showed just how much they’ve grown mentally as a team. That resilience will stand them in good stead for the season ahead.

⭐ Coaches’ Player of the Match: David – some lovely passing football all game, topped off with a fantastic strike to get on the scoresheet.

FOL U11 Whites 2-3 South Moor (Friendly)

A really positive outing for the lads tonight against a strong South Moor side.

With Max unavailable, Charlie and Pem both stepped up to go in goal – without gloves! A brilliant effort from both of them and they did themselves proud.

The game itself was really encouraging. Our passing routines were outstanding, and the combinations between the attacking players caused South Moor plenty of problems throughout. The lads moved the ball with confidence, played some excellent flowing football, and worked incredibly hard from the first whistle to the last.

Defensively, we looked solid as a team and were unfortunate with the goals we conceded. Despite ending up on the wrong side of a 3-2 scoreline, the performance deserved plenty of credit.

For the start of the season, this was a very promising display. The way the lads gelled together, showed great teamwork, and played attractive football was a joy to watch. Plenty of positives to take forward—well done, boys!

⚽️ Foundation of Light Whites – Round Robin Tournament ⚽️

A fantastic evening as Foundation of Light Whites hosted their first-ever round robin tournament! Six evenly matched teams took part, creating a brilliant event full of quality football, great sportsmanship, and plenty of competitive games.

A massive congratulations to Wearside FC Golds, who were crowned tournament winners on goal difference after an incredibly close battle between six excellent sides. 👏🏆

Our Foundation Whites can be really proud of themselves. After a difficult start, the lads never gave up, showed great character, and played some lovely football throughout the evening. They even finished by beating the eventual winners in the final game—a great way to end the tournament!

Every single player showed determination, effort, and quality in every match. You all did yourselves proud. 💙

🌟 Parents’ Player of the Tournament: Vinnie – An outstanding performance, with a work rate second to none and some superb passing all evening.

🧤 Coaches’ Player of the Tournament: Max – Incredible saves at crucial moments that kept us in games and gave the team every chance to compete.

A brilliant day of football for the Foundation of Light Whites, with the lads topping their group to progress into the Gold Cup semi-finals. They showed great quality, determination and teamwork throughout the tournament, earning their place among the strongest teams on the day.

Unfortunately, the journey ended in the cruellest way possible, with defeat in a penalty shootout in the semi-final. Penalties are always tough to take, especially after such a hard-fought performance, but every player can be incredibly proud of how they represented the team.

Tournament football is never easy. With such short games, it’s difficult to build momentum or recover from setbacks, making every moment count. Despite that, the lads competed brilliantly from start to finish, playing some excellent football and showing the attitude and togetherness we’ve come to expect.

A fantastic effort all round and plenty of positives to take into the new season. Well done, lads! 👏⚽
