I now have two wheelchair accessible vehicles and can accommodate most large powered wheelchairs .

Unfortunately we struggle to help around school pick up times but if anyone knows anyone who could benefit from either of these vehicles at any other time please donā€™t hesitate to contact me on 0191 386 5796

Standard and executive cars are also available for airport transfers and contract work šŸ˜ƒ

Please book with as much notice as possible as we struggle with immediate pick ups

Many thanks

Stuart

Hello all I bought this Ford Tourneo Grand Connect for a contract but it turned out the wheelchair I needed to transport was to big for it šŸ™‰

The vehicle is in great condition, direct from motability with one owner, and I spent nearly Ā£500 on a full service just last month at a Ford Specialist

If anyone knows anyone who might be interested in it please give me a shout

Itā€™s currently listed on Facebook marketplace at Ā£9000 Ono

Many thanks and as always if I can help you with transport please drop me a message šŸ‘

Just an update one my earlier post about a minimum charge Iā€™d just like to add this will not be applied to a single person who has booked me since the vehicle was licensed 7 months ago.

Also if demand were to rise the minimum charge will also be scrapped as soon as possible.

To give you an idea of current demand Iā€™m seeing on average 2-3 enquiries a week and mostly for very small journeys.

As the weather improves Iā€™m offering full day trips to anywhere within the Lake District national park at a fixed rate of Ā£200 a day for a door to door service

Special rates also available for return trips to places like South Shields and Tynemouth for those whoā€™d like a day at the coast

Depending on the size of your wheelchair I can carry between 1-3 passengers as well as a seated wheelchair user

Many thanks for your support, I am trying my best to help with this service

Unfortunately Iā€™m going to have to make some changes šŸ˜ž

Iā€™ve been in the taxi / private hire trade for many years and itā€™s getting harder and harder with uber ( who I donā€™t think have any wheelchair accessible vehicles) now taking the biggest share of the market and little companyā€™s like mine are folding week on week.

With the price of diesel currently being so high I spend most of my days driving an electric vehicle, which is so much cheaper to run.

When wheelchair jobs have been coming in Iā€™ve been trying to except as many as possible then I have to switch over vehicles into the wheelchair accessible, which is diesel to complete the job.

When I take the wheelchair accessible vehicle it means another driver canā€™t take any more jobs ( he has not completed the wheelchair training run by the council yet) and the electric car insurance is to expensive for him to drive my electric car.

If I do a long distance job this is fine but if itā€™s a Ā£5 -Ā£10 job itā€™s just not economically viable.

A few firms who do have wheelchair accessible vehicles have a high minimum fare, I donā€™t want to do that but I canā€™t keep going how I am.

I pay my drivers Ā£15/h so unfortunately Iā€™ve had to make the decision to set this as a minimum fare as I feel itā€™s only fare I earn at least living wage for trying to provide this service.

All longer jobs will be unaffected and will stay at the taxi meter price as set by the council.

Please also remember my wheelchair accessible vehicle is a private hire vehicle and not a taxi so I can legally charge any price as long as I make customers aware of this before collection

I hope all this makes sense and people understand

If anyone has any questions please donā€™t hesitate and as always please book as early as possible and I will try my best.

Unfortunately if this doesnā€™t work the vehicle will be for sale

Thanks for taking the time to read this

Stuart
