Player of the Match

This week's first team player of the match goes to Tom Wilson sponsored by Paul Floyd

Tom's 77 was the cornerstone of the team's innings and his 118 run partnership with The Don set us up for a much needed victory. Well batted Tom! ECC 🏏🍻.

Results

The first team picked up a massive 10 points with a 6 wicket victory. Contributions from Quinny, The Don and the Wilson brothers got us over the line with an over to spare.

It was a difficult afternoon for the second and third teams.

Stillington won a last ball thriller to pick up 10 points which moves them 12 points clear of the bottom two. It was a real team effort with the wickets and runs shared throughout the team. ECC/SCC 🏏🍻.

Here we go!

The first team welcome Welton to Back Lane looking to get back on track after last week's disappointing result. Our opponents sit 5th and have won 4 of their last 5 matches.

The second team make the trip to Yapham still searching for that elusive first win of the season. Yapham have improved in recent weeks winning their last 3.

The third team are back in action as they travel to Tadcaster Magnets who have only won 1 of their last 5 and sit just above us in 11th.

Stillington entertain Stamford Bridge looking to get back on track after 3 defeats in a row. Our opponents have lost their last 2 and sit 6th.

Girls cricket

A first for the club this week as we played our first ever all girls match at Sheriff Hutton Bridge. 

Having won the toss and elected to field, our opponents found the boundary regularly. Big shout out to Lyra who took the first wicket with Mabel taking an excellent catch.

Our target was 92 with Annabelle and Isla getting us off to a steady start. Eliza and Lyra continued with Lyra finding the boundary. The last pair of Beatrice and Mabel put the game in the balance as it went down to the last ball. Agonisingly we fell 2 runs short with Beatrice top scoring with 8.  

It is a great moment for the club and all the girls should be extremely proud of themselves, the club certainly are.

We will be hosting the return fixture before the end of the summer! Girl power 💥. ECC 🏏

Tom picked up 3/39 from his 11 overs as we pushed for victory. Unfortunately we didn't get over the line but Quinny was the pick of the bowlers. ECC 🏏🍻.

Results

A bad day at the office for the club with the three teams in action all on the wrong end of the results.

The first team paid the price for not batting out their 50 overs as they lost by 1 wicket. With victory in sight, the last two wickets put on 79 as we ended up with only four points.

The second team put up a fight against Heworth with the game going to the last over. Ultimately the lack of options with the ball cost us.

A depleted Stillington were beaten by 8 wickets despite an impressive 30 from W***y Piercy. ECC/SCC 🏏🍻.

Line ups!

The first team make the trip to Londesborough Park looking to make it three wins in a row against a team who have lost their last five. Victory and results elsewhere could see us close the gap to sixth in the table.

The second team welcome Heworth to Back Lane. After last week's agonising defeat and with much improved performances recently, can this be the week we bring home 10 points?

Stillington make the trip to third placed Beckwithshaw who have won four of their last five. We'll hope to get back on track after last week's disappointing result.

There is again no match for the third team.
