Thank you to everyone who attended last nights first whole club presentation evening. Congratulations to all the award winners and players who contributed to such a fun season. A big thank you to all the parents, families, coaches and club volunteers who make it all possible. Finally, a huge thank you to former Nottinghamshire and England star, Chris Broad for giving up his evening to present the awards and answer some interesting questions from the juniors!

I can only think that the novelty of a cricket tea for both our sides, meant they had their mind on food rather than cricket.
The 1sts just had one of those days where it went downhill from the second ball. Even with 4-5 regulars missing, the selected 11 still should have put on a stronger batting performance with Martin top scoring with 28 with only extras joining him in double figures! Young Ronnie showing the way as the only not out batsman on his 1st team debut.
Caunton however fielded extremely well, catching every chance they were given.

With little to defend it was always going to be a tough task to bowl at, with Caunton aided by some end of the season fielding from EB.
The tea was exceptional as always thanks to Eleanor and Tom

The seconds took on Eastwood with any available player left, selected. Glenn once again doing well with the bat, making 39 to top score. Neil Foster finished with 2-20 having not bowled for a couple of seasons

One game to go next week and it could turn out to be a big one

Well well what a game for the lads this afternoon! Huge win in their first T20 fixture away at Flintham! After winning the toss and electing to field we got straight to business! Wickets from Jacob (4), Archie Y (2), Archie J and Lucas saw us rattle though their attacking lineup… then the batsmen’s knocked off the chase with ease… Toby & Jos opened with real intent and both retired after hitting 25 runs each. Lucas H & Theo both followed on and hit their 25’s at pace with Lucas M and Casey making a nice cameo at the end. The standard of cricket from start to finish was extremely impressive with huge credit to the coaches for creating such a formidable team. Well done all! On to the next! 💪🏻

Huge congratulations to our Kwik Cricketers this morning for taking part in their first game, and bagging their first win!
After Radcliffe won the toss & elected to bat we restricted them to 239 thanks to some demon bowling and great fielding!
Lilly, Isaac, Olivia (2) and Luka (2) all took wickets with Luka getting two in two balls!
Then came the batting attack… Orla and Luka started strongly with Luka scoring 8, then Isaac and Jacob followed suit with Isaac scoring 9. Olivia and Lilly showed some brilliant running between the wickets during their partnership and then some big hitting at the end by Jacob, supported well by Freddie, saw us score 252 and take the win!
Well done to all involved!

With 4 of the usual 6 bowlers away this week, the pressure was firmly on the batsmen to get us through. And step up they did, not only with the bat but also the ball.

Batting first, Lee (92*) continued his great form this season, narrowly missing out on a home ton. He was well assisted by Zach (51) and Kit (34*)

With the leagues top run scorers to contend with, the EB bowlers and fielders had to be patient and take their chances when they came. The part time bowling of Lee and Karl worked well and helped see the team home with 10 runs to spare 😬

Back to winning ways and only 2 games to go!

The second team game was abandoned due to an unfit pitch!

With only 3 games remaining this season, both EB teams will be hoping to finish on a high.
The 1st team entertains near neighbours Farndon whilst the 2nds head to Jubilee Park, Burton Road in Carlton to face Sohani.

Well done to the boys for another great win tonight in their first Two-innings T10 game away at Radcliffe!
Some great bowling restricted the opposition to 50 runs in their first innings for no wicket, then some aggressive batting gave us scores of 71 & 74 from out two batting innings. The partnerships of Jos & Lucas, Mason & Ben, and Toby & Jacob saw the lads hit some big 4’s with lots of running between the wickets whilst losing no wickets at all!
Then came the final innings for Radcliffe - whilst chasing a significant total we turned up the heat and managed to bowl them all out! Jos set the tone with the ball, then three quick run-outs involving Ben, Jos, Toby and Mason left us with one wicket left to get. Jacob stepped up to bowl the final man out and seal the win.
Great cricket all round! Well done lads! 🏏🔥
