🎬THE RETFORD WAY — GROWTH. PROGRESS. OPPORTUNITY.
🔊Following our first home league game in a **higher division than last season**, we caught up with Retford FC Ladies First Team Manager Chris Wainwright to reflect on an exciting day for Retford FC Ladies.
👏 The result may not have gone the way the performance deserved, but there were plenty of positives to take. A squad stepping up a level, two Development Team players promoted into the First Team squad for the opening game, and a newly formed Development Team beginning its own journey.
💙And then there was the bigger picture.
Our junior girls joining us as **matchday mascots**, seeing the First Team environment up close and getting a glimpse of where their own football journey could lead.
🙌A fantastic turnout from the people of Retford, helping us raise the profile of women’s football in our town.
🎽The unveiling of our **new kit and continued partnership with DSV**, with exciting opportunities ahead to develop that relationship further.
🤝And behind all of it, countless hours of work from our players, coaches, volunteers and backroom team to establish a women’s section where we are determined to **raise the standards of what women should expect — both on and off the pitch.**
This isn't about one result.
✅It's about building something sustainable.
✅It's about creating opportunities.
✅It's about developing players.
✅It's about giving young girls a pathway.
✅It's about making women’s football an integral part of **The Retford Way.**
