🔶 2 in 3 women and children that the UK accepts as refugees now would be turned away in future under the Government’s proposed New Plan for Immigration.
This contradicts the Home Secretary’s stated intention to ensure this system protects women and children.
Refugees have always been a part of the UK - it’s .
Today, with more than 200 other organisations we’re calling for a better approach to supporting refugees that is kinder, fairer and more effective.

MSF teams remain in Ukraine, seeking ways to adapt our response as the conflict situation evolves.
We are deeply worried about the consequences of the conflict for Ukrainian people and communities. We see on the roads that tens of thousands of people are frightened and on the move.
The drastic change in context means we have had to take the painful decision to halt activities, which included HIV care in Severodonetsk, TB care in Zhytomyr, and improving healthcare access in Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, where we have been providing much-needed healthcare to conflict-affected communities.
Although these programmes have now mostly stopped, we did all we could to ensure some continuity of care for our patients.
Our teams in Belarus and Russia stand ready to provide humanitarian assistance if needed and we are looking to send teams to other neighbouring countries to be ready on stand-by, either for response in Ukraine or to provide humanitarian medical assistance to refugees seeking asylum abroad.
Our supply centres are currently working on readying medical kits for rapid dispatch. We will need to see over the coming period what access will be possible in a safe and impartial manner for humanitarian assistance.

Artist and human rights campaigner Ai Weiwei donated this incredible piece to our charity auction, Drawing a Line Under Torture.
Ai Weiwei has been fiercely outspoken against the Chinese government’s stance on human rights and has experienced torture at the hands of the Chinese government.
Now he’s using his art to help us support others who have experienced torture. All funds raised from the auction will be used to support survivors of torture through our art therapy.
Help us draw a line under torture by bidding on this piece, or one of the other 50 amazing pieces on offer at our auction today: https://bit.ly/3kknrEl
