Kicks Eastbourne - Kickboxing

Last week we went up to the Battle of Kent. In the end only two of the five kickboxers who entered were matched. Logan was waiting patiently for his fight from his arrival at 9am until 1pm when it was scheduled. Unfortunately however, while Logan was in his corner his opponent changed his mind when he was approaching the ring and refused to fight. Nemo was up next, and although he did not win I think everyone who saw what happened would agree that there was a very clear size difference between Nemo and his opponent. Despite this, Nemo showed skill and determination throughout the rounds by throwing defensive shots and moving at angles to avoid the attack. We hope to see more from both these fighters in the future. Also congratulations to Brighton Kicks who were also present on the day.

Excellent work in the juniors class this evening. Everyone working their footwork, grading moves and kicks to a high level. Also well done to one of the Kicks instructors Nick Reed, who despite rupturing his bicep in the first round of his heavyweight boxing match at the weekend, still managed a draw.

Kicks Eastbourne wishes Jalal all the best on his return to Kurdistan. It has been a pleasure training with you. Jalal first turned up to a 1-1 session a couple of years ago and I can honestly say his round kick felt like it nearly went through the Thai pad. Despite an ongoing serious leg injury he has continued to train in the best way he can. We hope to see you again one day 🥊💥
