Our Spring πΌ term starts tomorrow, Wednesday, 15th March at the Battle Memorial Hall. There are a few spaces in the 5.15pm class and possibly one in the 6.20pm class.

Francesca is a yoga teacher, yoga therapist, gong practitioner and sound therapist. Sound healing works by vibrating energy forms, including the human body which is made up of 70% water, a great conductor for sound. Each part of the body has its own resonant frequency, and when bathed in sound, it brings harmony and healing.
Francesca has trained with some of the best and most experienced in sound healing and has immersed herself in yoga philosophy to create a powerful and deeply moving experience.
Deb has been teaching yoga in Battle for nearly 20 years and has completed many advanced teacher trainings including core strength vinyasa flow, yin yoga, biomechanics and is also a mindfulness teacher. She has a master's degree in Positive Psychology, the science of happiness, and infuses her classes with tools for wellbeing and health.

The layers in this beautiful plant fascinated me so much I had to buy one! Each layer a delicate sheath being part of the whole.. π· Just like our bodies - in yoga we refer to them as koshas, in biology, itβs skin, fascia, muscle, etc. πΆπΌββοΈββ‘οΈ
If we want to age physically with strength and grace we must nurture each layer! Bones need strengthening, fascia needs movement and friction, our joints and connective tissue needs mobility and hydrationβ¦β¦ π¦
Last week I gave a talk to a wonderful group of women in Bexhill on the topic of thriving in our third age. π€ΈπΌββοΈππΎββοΈπββοΈ
We spoke about adding in different types of movement to our day - try sitting on the floor instead of a chair. Get down on all fours and try some hip circles. Or balance on one leg whilst brushing your teeth! Of the 80 women in the room, only a few had good range of movement in their shoulders.
We also spoke about mental health if we want to age psychologically and spiritually with strength and grace, we must take time to breath, to notice, to be presentβ¦..π This inspiring group of women left with some positive psychology tools to elevate their emotional wellbeing.
