Some may wonder what this tray of parts from a very special bike represents.
Well for starters this rare survivor is in fact none other than a complete 1998 Mk1 Rotec Moto-link DH ordered by its original owner, who was not only a rippin SoCal Rotec racer but a member of the Rotec Factory sponsored Team Keebler Racing crew..
Word has it this was its 1st teardown since 1998..i can believe it..
BB cups are prestine..xtr bb tool was the tool needed to install and remove them and these notches, to me prove a production install down to their original butter l**e used during assembly.
Whats remarkable is its parts are amazingly....well, not trashed...in particular no galling of the link pins
or the bushing that notoriously....well just plain sucked.
ORIGINAL...AC cranks straight from the Rotec catalog ...yes, before ordering off the web.
Now belongs to a long time Rotec Nation participant and prolific Rotec collector with as much passion as he has patience.

One can meet the most extraordinary people like Lee Caguiat and Matt Branch in the most magical of places..like Disney World and Volcom's amazing store at Disney Springs.
I visited them while on vacation this past week because i was intrigued to see first hand, Volcoms incredible product line of pants, shorts, shirts, jackets and outdoor Activewear and I must say i was impressed.
I'm also so excited to see what may lay ahead in their new clothing lineup targeted towards mountain biking.
But why all this??
As the owner of the Rotec Cycles, a mtb brand in our own right and maker of incredible mountain bikes..VOLCOM's ethos personally hit home with me and our brand....
" The only constant is change"
and to use their quote TRUTH TO THIS.... it is.
VOLCOMs amazing commitment to product excellence exemplifies that and their quality is unmatched in their industry.
FYI: They do not sponsor our bike brand nore give us product, freebies, swag...and other then some tunics and Workware ive bought over the years and recently, thats the extent of my affilation with Volcom.
They did became an active sponsor of the NWcup Mtb Race series based here in Washington State a few years back and that participation has been awesome to see help grow the grassroots aspects of the series.
NWcup by the way are lead by two extraordinary individuals as well, Scott Tucker and Casey Northern and their crew of talented and dedicated trail crew.
The Volcoms crew i met this week are an incredible group of individuals and i truly just wanted to acknowledge them openly and publicly..
Check'em out if you haven't already and if not....you should..
