What a fantastic weekend on our boat handling weekend - part 2. After launch, we went out to the open water of the Haven for manoeuvres and skills. Hywel was aboard to be assessing Miles. Miles and Martin did a great job of teaching our seven students over a couple of days. Confidence was seen to grow in all of our boat handlers. And then there's the social part of the weekend. We set up a small commune of tents, campers and caravan for the weekend Eco Escape Campsite. We had a great selection of Haribo, welsh cakes, cakes (make by club support Amanda B), chips and dips, Paella 🥘, cheese and maybe a beer or 2. All finished with sunday lunch in ✨🌞 Nautico's Restaurant 🍸🌴 in Milford marina.
I think everyone slept well after the weekend. Thankyou to Miles, Martin and Sarah for organising

What a fantastic weekend we had. We held our boat handling course this weekend. Using the Cobra (Valley Diver) and a club members Marly II to deliver the practical elements. Familiarisation and launch we're first and then out to open water for manoeuvres. We had a great turnout and success with 7 new boat handlers and also a boat handler instructor assessed by Hywel Dyer at the end of the weekend. Well done, everyone!

Sunday was Gareths turn, so back to Skomer and a really enjoyable few dives for the sunday crew. Siobhan and Huw racked up an hour on the first. Gareth was fascinated by all the life we encountered on our second OD training day. With vis approx 3-4 mtrs and lots of life - a great second day diving.

During a surface interval, a call to the coastguard
from the boat moored next to us indicated an injury after a fall down cabin stairs. 2 of our club members boarded to support the injured lady whilst awaiting RNLI assist from the small craft from Small Haven/ Broadhaven. The casualty was then evacuated to the all-weather craft before heading to Milford Haven. We hope for a speedy recovery.

A great weekend out with some glorious sunshine again. It would be rude not to, even with springs. The Thomas Vaughan, the Mewstone, and Southhaven around Skomer and the Lochshiel for a brick.
Our focus this weekend was our trainees. Southhaven, proved a great site for a first UK sea dive. Well done Georgia and Flo on Saturdays achievement. We were accompanied by seals who were quite inquisitive and not off putting for Georgia 🦭 what a first dive experience. We also had a little RNLI action too.

It was great to see a range of divers out today, including our CCR boys. A couple of club members had their first outing on the cobra. Cobra Ribs
Vis was a reported 8 mts on the Lucy and 4mts in the Haven.
A great day was had by all, with great conditions and lots of life to enjoy.
