Another summer of cricket at Blossoms Park comes to an end this weekend with the last of our league fixtures 🌸

🏏 On Friday night, The Fizzers take centre stage in a huge Quarter Final clash vs Crawley Eagles

💛🏏 Huge congratulations to the Edenbridge Fizzers, who have finished TOP of their Sussex Women's Softball Cricket League group this summer 👏

❤️ Another brilliant campaign full of teamwork, resilience and serious skill - and now it's onto the knock‑out quarter finals vs Crawley Eagles, which we'll be hosting at Blossoms Park from 5.45pm this Friday 4th September - please come along and make some noise in support of the Fizzers!! 🥂📣🙌

🏏 Batting brilliance - special shout‑outs to Suzie (123 runs) and Holly (108 runs) for finishing 1st and 2nd in the league batting charts. Outstanding consistency all season.

🎯 Bowling dominance - Holly also topped the bowling leaderboard with 6 wickets and a superb 3.8 economy; a complete all‑rounder performance.

👏 More Fizzers in the top rankings - huge mentions to Ella, Tash, Laurie and Suzie, who all featured across the bowling Top 10. A true squad effort from start to finish.

🙏 This team grows in confidence, skill and togetherness every single season - and finishing top is the perfect reward for everything they've put in.

📰 MATCH REPORT - EDENBRIDGE ACADEMY XI 🏏

In their recent Sunday Kent Village Cricket League fixture at home against Kings Hill, our Academy XI delivered a hugely impressive all‑round performance and a huge win over Kings Hill 🙌

With Edenbridge batting first, Connor set the tone with a brilliant 91 (69), finding the boundary regularly and keeping the run rate high. Jonny backed him up with a composed 82 (89), building a strong platform…right up until he ran the elder Hodson brother out 👀

Joining his kamikaze‑running brother in the middle, Carter unleashed a blistering 102* (50) - 20 fours, clean hitting, total control. Late knocks from Callum (17), Cam (9) and Rory (9) kept the momentum flying and pushed Edenbridge into a commanding position, before they enjoyed a delightful cricket tea in the pavilion during the innings break 🍰

Back out in the field, the opposition started brightly at 62–0, but Edenbridge’s bowlers soon took charge.

🔵 Callum broke the opening stand with a tight 1–17 (4) including two maidens
🔴 Carter followed up his batting heroics with 1–18
🔵 Connor added two important wickets to keep the pressure on
🔴 Cam chipped in with a key wicket to end the visitors innings
🔵 But it was young Curtis who delivered the standout spell: 4–33 (6), picking off the lower order and retaining the match ball 👏

Kings Hill were all out for 169 in 28 overs 🏏

A strong batting platform, backed by disciplined bowling, gave Edenbridge CC a convincing and well‑deserved win. A great team performance all round ❤️

Our final Sunday Academy fixture is Sunday 6th September at home to Linton Park. Spectators very welcome! 🍻

📢 THIS WEEK at Edenbridge Cricket Club - and it's the penultimate week of the season 😢

🏃‍♂️ Senior Training (age 14+) continues on Tuesday from 6.30pm as we keep building momentum heading into a big weekend of fixtures!

🏏 The Edenbridge Fizzers are back in action on Wednesday evening, training from 6.30pm as rescheduled quarter final preparations ramp up 💪

🏆 Saturday brings double Sussex League action:

✈️ The 1st XI travel to Burgess Hill for a 12.30pm start
🏡 The 2nd XI host Southwick & Shoreham at Blossoms Park, also starting at 12.30pm 🌸

🙌 Get down to support the 2s at home on match-day

🍻 The bar will be open, the sun might be shining… and spectators are always very welcome!

📢 THIS WEEK at Edenbridge Cricket Club

🏃‍♂️ Senior Training (age 14+) continues on Tuesday from 6.30pm as we get set for another busy week of cricket!

🏏 The Fizzers are also in training on Monday and Wednesday evening in preparation for their quarter final knockout match against Crawley Eagles in the Sussex Softball Cricket League!

🏆 The fixture is scheduled for this Friday at Blossoms Park from 6pm 🌸 come along and support the ladies! 🥂

🏏 Saturday sees both senior sides in Sussex League action:

🏡 The 1st XI welcome St Matthias to Blossoms Park for a 1pm start

✈️ The 2nd XI travel to face Copthorne, also getting underway at 1pm

🌟 On Sunday, our Academy XI travel to Harvel for a 1.30pm start in their penultimate fixture in the Sunday Kent Village Cricket League
