Author of the YA paranormal Legacy of Blood & Hope series (two books out and causing chaos).

In 2026, my gothic heart is tuning into Edinburgh and Scotland—where witchcraft, graveyards, and old myths have plenty to say.

One message.
One review.
One person saying “I loved this.”

That can carry an indie author further than you know.
Books aren’t built by algorithms alone.
They’re built by connection.

So if you’ve ever supported an author…
please know it mattered.

~ just a wee indie author hugging the hell out of her second book in a series (she never thought she would write) knowing that book three is already screaming at her.

💀 Some writers plot carefully. Some outline. Some research extensively.

🤪And then there’s me… being haunted by an unwritten gothic novel delivered via dreams like some sort of Victorian parcel service.

Arriving through dreams, they drag fog in behind them, and refuse to leave until I’ve paid attention. This particular menace has been haunting me since Winter Solstice 2022, which feels both dramatic and annoyingly on-brand.

💀 It begins on May 13, 1827, Edinburgh, with a Resurrectionist digging up a body from an unmarked grave…only the woman doesn’t stay dead.

He was forged by science. She was forged by sacrifice. Together, they learn that the most dangerous kind of love isn’t born from need—but choice.

If you love Outlander, Frankenstein, gothic longing, dangerous tenderness, feminine myth, haunted cities, and stories with a bit of grave dirt under their nails… you may be my people. 🤓

And then there’s the unnerving (see “haunting” above) part: I’ll dream a name, a street, a place, some obscure detail… only to discover later it existed. Freemasons. Surgeons. Bedlam. Apothecaries. The dreams keep getting there before Google does.😱

Would you read this book… or should I seek professional help first?🤪

My birthday month begins next week… and apparently I’ve chosen visibility as my gift (time will tell if it’s really a curse 🤣) to myself with a little experiment called “May Contain Growth”.

Slightly reckless, but calling it ‘character development’ makes me feel productive.

You can expect:
✨ writer life chaos✨ behind the scenes of Everlasting / Everfallen / whatever book is currently yelling at me✨ thoughts on reinvention, creativity + midlife becoming✨ humour, hormones, hope✨ talking to readers*
(*readers currently an aspirational term, but we move 😏)

I once promised regular monthly emails. Reader… that was aspirational too. 🤣

But trying again counts. Starting again counts. Showing up imperfectly absolutely counts.

So if you’re building something too, healing something, beginning something, risking something… welcome.🫶🏻

🌅We ride at dawn.Or mid-morning.Depending on sleep quality.

P.S. I’m either inspired or self-pressured by the lovingly unhinged .gemmavale 🧐😉🫶🏻 who’s just rocking not only the socials but her writing ✍🏻

🌹 Apparently one of the many hats indie authors wear is Narrator of Their Own Book.

Was this always the plan? Absolutely not.
Did budget realities and delusional optimism join forces? They did.

So here I am, embarking on the slightly awkward adventure of reading my own words out loud like I didn’t write them in candlelight, emotional turmoil, and occasional snacks. 😜🎧

And honestly? The lovely humans who’ve already read EVERLASTING (and know me in real life) keep saying they can hear me all through the pages, and that anyone else voicing it would just feel… suspicious. Which is flattering, mildly exposing, and apparently the nudge I needed. 🤣

And none of this would be happening without the magnificent force that is — sound engineer extraordinaire, patient wizard of microphones, calm in the storm of my “wait… do I sound weird?” moments, and general bringer of audio miracles. You’ve made this whole thing feel possible, professional, and far less likely to end in me rage-quitting into a blanket fort.

Because of you, EVERLASTING gets to find a new voice… apparently mine.

Pray for us all.

💀TBD💀…Don’t mind me… I think this story just threw a plot twist at me.

Hearing these words out loud—like really hearing them…especially with that beautiful scots dialect 🤩…well, damn it…it cracked something open and now I can’t unsee, or should I say unhear 🤓, where it wants to go next.

..this is your fault (and also your magic). Thank you for lending your voice to this in a way that made the whole thing feel… more alive. Slightly feral. Exactly right.

And because my brain apparently can’t leave anything alone—I now have a very clear visual for the man wandering through that graveyard. 🪦 Think Tom Hardy in Taboo. That kind of gothic grit, with brutal intelligence. Oh, and don’t forget that trench coat.

Also… in a quiet moment of bravery, I sent this story out into the world this week. To a publisher. No big announcement, just a small “okay, let’s see.”
Anyway. Just a glimpse. Nothing more.

🌹🥀 Quick pivot I didn’t fully see coming—

Legacy of Blood & Hope has been sitting in YA… and apparently just minding its business there while quietly not quite fitting.

A few conversations (including one with a beloved 🌙friend who actually teaches YA and sees how teens interpret this stuff in real time 👀) got me looking at it differently.

Turns out… the way adults read certain themes—relationships, intensity, all the morally grey chaos—is not always how teens process it. 🤔

Which explains a lot.

So, Sady’s story has moved to Adult.

I’ll also be adding a short preface—nothing dramatic, just a bit of context for what you’re walking into.

Same story. Just… relocated to a shelf that makes more sense.

Anyway. Carry on 😌📚

🌹🥀Meet the characters (or should I say chaos) behind Legacy of Blood & Hope

💫 Sady — think Dean Wi******er energy collided with a girl who never quite learned how to belong… with just enough Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega era) edge to keep things uncomfortable

☕ Kelsey — soft and kind doesn’t mean weak… and she’s living proof

🖤 Greyson — written during in my Jared Leto phase. Mischievous or dangerous? Maybe.  Sady’s inappropriate school teacher crush? Definitely.

🔥 Sera — if Maleficent had a sharper edge and zero hesitation when it comes to burning the world down for her child

🦸‍♂️ Jamie — low-key superhero energy… the kind you don’t notice until you really, really need it

🏍️ Sam — basicallyJason Momoa energy… (Harley Davidson included)..all power and presence, until you realize he’s the one holding everything (and everyone) together

🌱 Linda — quiet, observant… and somehow always exactly where she needs to be (green thumb goddess exists in real life)

🏹 Miriam — modern day Amazonian warrior meets chilled out leader… but magnetic, and completely unapologetic in who she is 🏳️‍🌈

💎 Ramira — Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie era) meets something older, quieter… the kind of woman who already knows how this ends

⚡ Michaela — the friend who will say it out loud, even when you really wish she wouldn’t (inspired by real-life)

Which one would you like to meet…in person…if they were real 🤓?

Movement, Moonlight, and the Moment Everything Shifted 01/03/2026

Some of you may read the very abbreviated version on my Instagram, but y'all know there is sooo much more to my stories than a wee caption that fits onto your phone screen.

For those of you who love a good story, the occasional eye-roll and dumb joke....here is that version.

Movement, Moonlight, and the Moment Everything Shifted Candles, certifications, and the month my financial foundation changed.

❖ January has been loud in my head and absolutely useless at my fingertips.

Ideas spill out of me when I’m walking, dreaming, pulling tarot, making coffee—whole scenes, whole worlds. But the moment I sit down to write? My brain files a formal complaint and goes on strike. 🤦🏻‍♀️

🌹Everlasting is open on my screen—demanding to be marketed. Algorithms. Posts. Pins. The glamorous life of self-publishing gremlin work. 🙄 While Everrising is quietly whispering sweet nothings in my ear.

Meanwhile, the book I actually want to be writing—currently nicknamed 💀TBD💀—is fully alive in my dreams. Gothic. 1827 Edinburgh. Graveyards, healing rites, whispered histories. I’ve even signed up for a February talk on the city’s pre-15th century healing traditions because apparently I don’t do “casual research.”

So here is how much of January has looked: latte made, tarot card drawn, laptop open, muse being aggressively side-eyed. 😒

So, don’t mind me, just plotting the return of words in February—just a wicked little yes.✍🏻
