One of the great privileges of my life. Definitely my concert highlight. Joni Mitchell was a rocking, soulful, joyful force.
Political, mindful, grateful, powerful, beautiful, modest, humble and oh so present. In one extraordinary artist. And her band? Totally sublime. Guest artist included Elton John, Annie Lennox, Meryl Streep, Marcus Mumford, Lady Hendrix, Lisa Oand Wendy, Jon Batiste.
The First night, I had a seat already, and then a very close and incredibly beloved friend gifted me four tickets in the second to front row at the very last minute. I am sharing some of the intimate photos shots from there.
I’ll be adding videos of songs to this post so please keep watch. It’s hard to upload so much music, but I will try.
Gift of a lifetime.
The second night we were sitting way back, so I’m sharing photos of the screen. The moon came up. It was magic.
Thank you Joni Mitchell

Renowned Kiwi/Canadian/Jewish comedienne Deb Filler has a knack of making audiences feel that they are a part of her world. In Kravitz, Bernstein, Cohen, and Me, with several FOUR STAR reviews freshly minted, "Deb is an easy storyteller with impeccable comic timing. Just when you think you have heard the whole tale, there is a twist or turn in the retelling that adds another dimension to the outcome. The details in the narrative effectively engage the audience and bring the experience to life. Her performance of the encounters is so dramatic and funny that you appreciate the anecdote for just that - a story. Charming, delightful, and witty, "Kravitz, Cohen, Bernstein and Me" is a lovely way to spend an hour ten minutes with the three “Lennys,” Kravitz, Cohen and Bernstein through Deb's experiences. And the standing ovation at the end is well-deserved.” FRINGE REVIEW
With only a guitar, (mostly) true stories, and a raft of lovable characters, this jam-packed, deeply humorous show is a love-story to Yiddish, music and mentors, whose empowering influence will linger long after curtain down.
Directed by the talented Sarah-Louise Young (known for ‘An Evening Without Kate Bush’). UK Première
Praise for Deb Filler:
“Funny and affecting…She is a brilliant observer and her characterisations…are powerfully nuanced.” The Sydney Morning Herald
"Enchantingly intimate, filled with gusto, charm, brilliance, talent and chutzpah...To miss her would be madness!" (NZ Herald)
'What makes her performance so irresistible is her innate mimetic genius
her sharp, compassionate observation of people, her instinct for spot-on timing
and just-right exaggeration, her amazingly limber facial expression and body language.
But, most of all, it’s the unfeigned warmth of her connection with her audience.' (Vancouver Observer)
'Deb Filler’s love note to the world wends through near-universal musical touchstones, b***y humour, the joys (or not) of Yiddish, coincidental connections, and the impact of one important musical figure on the life of her family.’ (DC Reviews) DURATION: 70 MINUTES

PATRICK MARMION reviews The Grand Old Opera House Hotel
PATRICK MARMION: The Edinburgh Festival is the spiritual home of kooky genius. And there are few people in theatre today who are kookier - or more touched by genius - than Isobel McArthur.
