Some amateur golf with some not so amateur whisky

Another Macallan. Sorry but I love their work

This is 12 Year Old Double Cask

A combination of American and European Sherry Oak that boasts a great light gold colour in the bottle. First up is sherry on the nose, but unfortunately I didn’t get the same strength of it on the palate. Fruit and nut tones make up most of the flavour profile mixed with some honey notes. A touch of citrus at the end. Not the most complex whisky from this distillery. Gives some warmth and I’ll admit it’s a smooth dram but I was hoping for more of that sherry cask to dominate

Having said that, every drop of this will be drunk with a grin

Cheers 🥃

This thing was a hell of a lot cheaper when I bought it than what it’s going for now

The Yamazaki 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky .
What are your thoughts on Japanese Whisky?

This one I absolutely love for the price tag I bought it for. Lots of floral features on the nose with a hint of vanilla. Smooth palate, not too complex. Tropical fruits with a bit of sweetness. Not much kick though, I think this one relies on lighter features rather than a heavy finish. I think it’s something different and I love it

It’s a shame that the pricing has jumped so dramatically, I personally think there are better single malt whiskies on the market for a better price than what this is going for. But a brilliant drop nonetheless. I’m sad this bottle is nearing its end

“A Late Night on The Green”

Couldn’t pick a better whisky to tee this page off with than The Dalmore 15!

15 year old Single Malt Highland Scotch Whisky

A perfect dram in the lead up to Christmas with rich pudding notes and a refined finish. A fine tipple from my favourite distillery on a beautiful stretch of Scottish coastline. A must have

Cheers 🥃

This is a special one

A rare gem, the 15 year old Tobermory single malt scotch whisky is a favourite of mine

The packaging is like no other whisky I’ve bought. Encased in a wooden box with a “cut-out” shape of the Isle of Mull where it hails from. The bottle is wrapped in a crepe paper print of artwork depicting the same region

The flavour profile matches the attention to detail of the casing. Medium bodied, very sherry forward with some white pepper and toffee. A smooth nutty finish that makes me wish this bottle were still available

Cheers 🥃 @ Isle of Mull Scotland

A must have for every whisky cabinet courtesy of distillery

This Bunnahabhain 12 year old Islay single malt scotch whisky is a class act

This thing gives a kick. But a refined kick, if there is such a thing. Easy on the peat which is unusual for an Islay whisky. More wood notes if anything which I personally prefer and a splash of maraschino cherry. This will bloody warm you up

Cheers 🥃

Nothing better than The Balvenie to finish off a nice round of golf

This is the 21 year old Portwood Port Cask

This drop is so smooth and comforting! Peaches and cream, not much spice with a hint of honey. Perfect for a Sunday night. Unfortunately my last thimbleful left

Cheers 🥃
