My preference for chipping. Key take away from Joe’s insights and comments…. Go figure what works best out on the short game area. Measure don’t guess

Lots of talk about 10* down for chipping. Joe Mayo been on fire providing great coverage of VH and insights we can all learn from. Been asked my opinion a few times. My two cents… low point control is key for short game. Context is also key (shot,lie,player etc) so individuals have to find their own ideal.
My preference (as a player) is more around 7* down as prefer stock chips/pitches to be slight draw pattern. See next picture
