Team SQR were at Broughty Ferry in the weekend for the very first NESCR competition where we brought Salamander and King Waddlesworth to fight in the competition. Both won two out of their five qualifier battles but sadly didn’t make it into the top 8.

Salamander took part in the Tag-Team where it was teamed with Oharotops where it lost to Eclipse and Annihilation where both robots took a lot of damage. A more detailed report will follow once I get more references to footage of competitors.

Both robots may be heavily damaged since the weekend however they will be back. We did however manage to walk away with a trophy where we won the best sportsmanship award which was a pleasant surprise. A great weekend, well done to Pizza Shark for winning a well hard fought competition and well done to Ross & Mark for making history by organising the first antweight competition in Scotland.

Not been on this page in a while. Just thought I’d come back to say Team SQR have been at a couple of events recently, we were at Battle in the Burgh 5 held at Loanhead last week and this week we were at NESCRs first event at the Dundee Science Centre. NESCR (North East Scotland Combat Robots) are an organisation formed by Ross McKay (Team Oletar), Mark Smith (Team Freybotics) and Kit and Andrew Holme who are roboteers from Aberdeen, Dundee and St. Andrews respectively, who organised their first event.

We brought Corkscrew on along with Pug which went on display along with some other beetleweights and featherweights while we did antweight demos and also offered opportunities for science centre visitors to take the controls and have a shot.

A very enjoyable event with great company and what was great was we offered more of an opportunity for more of Scotland to see what we do 😎😎😎

Can’t wait until their next events and would like to wish Mark, Ross, Kit and Andrew all the best with their event 🙂

Attached are a few pics from the day :)
