Our Race Director, Cat, is celebrating finishing her cancer treatment and what better way than to announce that this year’s Hot Chocolate 5K & 10K on the 22nd November will be fundraising for and to help raise awareness of these brilliant charities.
Cat firmly believes that Bowel Babe founder, Deborah James, saved her life and stopped the cancer from spreading further than her colon. Her frank and open messaging about checking your poo for blood and being cautious of any changes in frequency of going to the loo for a number two , the consistency of your poo and other symptoms like unusual fatigue, bloating and flatulence has made this uncomfortable topic easier to talk about. It’s really important to notice these symptoms and to talk to your GP about them. It’s not embarrassing, it’s life saving.
Cancer Card founder, Jen Hardy MBE, was an incredible lady who wanted all cancer patients to be able to access and find out about services in their area in a really easy one stop shop.
Two truly awesome ladies who created two truly awesome cancer charities!
And it goes without saying that there’s a cup of steaming hot chocolate at the finish line for you all!
