Our core intention envisions a future where every young person’s eyes and minds are open to their limitless potential. Creating Confident Futures

We do this through exceptional and fun performing arts education! Razzamataz Theatre Schools is a part-time children's theatre school for boys and girls aged four to eighteen that provide training in Dance, Drama and Singing in both Musical Theatre and Commercial styles. At Razz we aim to develop a child's confidence, improve their social skills, increase their health and fitness levels and ensure they have lots of FUN! What is your favourite musical?

What role would you most like to play?
💚Elphaba from Wicked!

Outside of Razz…
🎤I went to razz from 8-16 then starting going to part time theatre school studying all aspects of MT, I also got private singing lessons from 16-21. I
left school to study MT full time and done that for a year & I got my HNC
😁After that I studied childhood practice I have my SCQF level 9 in childhood practice and currently work in a nursery.

Why you work at Razz?
🥰I work at razz because I love to see children grow in confidence which was exactly what razz done for me. I actually really enjoy my job and it’s never a chore to come, seeing the kids grow is my favourite thing

What is your favourite thing to teach?
🎼I like to teach belting techniques the best, love hearing how powerful the children’s voices can be

A piece of advice for our students:
🙌🏻Remember mistakes are for class so if we make them that’s what our class is for so we never have to worry about that 🥰🙌🏻

What’s your favourite musical?
🚂My favourite musical is Hades Town.

What role would you most like to play?
💙A dream role would be Veronica in Heather’s !

Outside of Razz…
🎭My drama/ performing qualification is a BA Hons degree in Drama as well as a level 6 diploma in professional dance from
The Northern Ballet School.

Why did you want to work at Razz?
😄I wanted to work at razz to uplift and support the next generation of performers. I believe the performing arts forms such incredible friendships and skills for life and it’s a joy to be a part of bringing that to younger performers.
💗Razz has such a positive and confidence building approach to teaching which is really wonderful to work within.

What is your favourite thing to teach?
💭My favourite thing to teach is improvisation, helping students unlock their creativity and have fun with it!

A piece of advice for our students:
🙌🏻One piece of advice would be to celebrate everyone’s differences and believe in yourself !🙌🏻

Next up is Karis our dance teacher who is bringing new styles and encouraging students to challenge themselves!✨

What is your favourite musical?
🚂My favourite musical is Hadestown with my second favourite closely being Moulin Rouge

What role would you most like to play?
🥧My dream role would be to play Jenna Hunterson in Waitress

Outside of Razz…
🕺🏼I have my National 5, Higher, HNC, HND qualifications in dance and have just graduated with a BA HONS degree in dance and drama

Why did you want to work at Razz?
☺️I wanted to work at Razz because I wanted to be able to pass on my passion for the performing arts onto the next generation. Working with kids is the most rewarding job because you not only get to watch them grow as a performer but as an individual as well, and it’s great knowing that you’ve made an impact on someone’s life no matter how small.

What is your favourite thing to teach?
🎼My favourite thing to teach is Musical Theatre because it combines my love of dancing, singing, and acting into one and we all have the best time dancing to songs from musicals!

A piece of advice for our students:
🙌🏻My one piece of advice to our students is to always be yourself and never let anyone dull your sparkle!!🙌🏻

What’s your favourite musical?
💗Moulin rouge!

What was your favourite musical you were in during your time at Razz?
🇬🇷My favourite musical to be in at Razz was Mamma Mia

What role would you most like to play?
🐠I would like to play Flounder in The Little Mermaid

Why did you want to work at Razz after being a student?
😄 I work at razz because growing up going to Razz has always been something I have loved and enjoyed and I wasn’t ready to let it go

A piece of advice for our students:
🙌🏻My advice for students would be to keep going and put in as much effort as they can, because it is so worth it🙌🏻

We are back with a wee series of ‘meet the team’ posts so you can get to know us a little more! First up is Murron, our Principal and Owner of Razzamataz Edinburgh West✨

What’s your favourite musical?
🎸 We Will Rock You, but Matilda is a super close second!

What role would you most like to play?
🎭 I would love to play Brooke Wyndham in Legally Blonde. Mainly for the ‘Whipped into shape’ track!

Outside of Razz…
📚 I have a Honours degree in Psychology and have recently gained a Masters degree in Education: Child and Adolescent Psychology.

💻Both of these have taught me so much about how children and young people develop and learn during their early years, and I have so much knowledge to bring to our Razz classes from my studies!

My Razz journey =
✨ I started at Razz as an Inter student and stayed until I was 16. From there I became the Minis/Juniors classroom assistant, then progressed to Drama Teacher and Admin Assistant before I completed the Razzamataz official Managers training course.

💗During this time I also worked as the Drama Teacher and Manager at Razz Glasgow South, which was just brilliant to get to teach at Razz twice a week!

🙈After working at Razz for 8years in the staff team, I am so incredibly grateful to now be the Owner and Principal!

A piece of advice for our students:
🙌🏻 The biggest piece of advice I have for our incredible students is to push yourself each week, be silly and feel comfortable in making mistakes!! 🙌🏻

I was the most shy child ever and the thought of challenging myself to grow in confidence was terrifying to me even though it’s what I really wanted to do. It took me a while but as soon as I pushed, I became the person I wanted to be 🩷

Our team is committed to helping every child, whether they come bounding in with energy and confidence or if they are shy and nervous, to express themselves truly. We are here to help everyone thrive and be their brilliant selves💪🏻

✨Our star of the week!✨

Our star of the week goes to Harris, who has been with us for a good few years now 👏🏻.

Harris constantly pushes himself and rises to challenges and our teachers continue to be impressed each week! 💪🏻 He specifically got this certificate due to his amazing ability to pick up the new dance routine so fast especially when this one was a bit more technically challenging 🕺🏼.

It’s so great seeing him thrive in all 3 disciplines, well done Harris 🤩

Teamwork makes the dream work 🥰

Our Inters were spot on working together to create still scenes representing what their teacher called out! This helps with:
🎤 communication skills
✨ teamwork and collaboration
👏🏻 listening and focus
🩷physical storytelling
💭quick decision making
All while being super fun, the students have the freedom to be as creative and silly with this as they want 🎬
